Octopus eggs donated by a friendly customer. These are not from our resident octopus. The word is that they are Atlantic Long-arm Octopus eggs, but identification is difficult with a creature that changes color, texture, and size. The "Atlantic" origin is a good clue, though. I suspect these are actually Caribbean Reef Octopus eggs, which also have long arms and are the same species we have in the store. We can see eye spots, so the eggs are definitely fertile. I have worked with this species before and will try to raise them, even though the survival rate is usually better when the mother guards and cleans them.
