The future of energy is about more than just solar and wind. 🌱⚡

As we transition to a cleaner energy system, we’ll need a mix of solutions — from renewable electricity and energy storage to biogas, biomethane and turning organic waste into a valuable resource.

At ZooShare, we’re proud to be part of that future by transforming food and animal waste into renewable energy and nutrient-rich fertilizer.

The energy transition is already underway. The question is: how can we make it more circular, local and sustainable?

Visit zooshare.ca to learn more about how biogas works.

**How do smart grids and biogas plants work together? 🌱⚡**

It starts with something surprisingly simple: **organic waste.**

Biogas plants turn waste from farms, food operations, and communities into renewable biogas. That biogas can then be used to generate electricity and heat—or upgraded into biomethane.

When connected with a smart grid, this renewable energy can become part of a more flexible and resilient energy system.

🔄 **The basic flow:**

1️⃣ Organic waste → biogas
2️⃣ Biogas → renewable energy
3️⃣ Energy → smart grid
4️⃣ Smart technology → balances supply and demand
5️⃣ Clean energy → homes, businesses & communities

The result? A system that can help make better use of local resources while supporting **renewable energy, grid reliability, energy security, and a more circular economy.**

For Canada and beyond, biogas can play an important role in building a smarter, more sustainable energy future. 🇨🇦🌎

**Biogas + smart grids = turning waste into opportunity.**

What a week at the ZooShare biogas plant! 🌱⚡

We were excited to welcome over 70 students and teachers from Brebeuf College School (Grades 9–12) for a day of learning about renewable energy, food waste diversion, and sustainability in action.

With such a large group, students split into two teams — while one group toured the biogas plant, the other explored the beautiful trails of Rouge National Park before switching activities. A perfect combination of environmental education, clean energy, and outdoor learning!

Interested in seeing the ZooShare Biogas plant like the group from Brebeuf? Good news! 🚨 Doors Open Toronto is just ONE DAY AWAY! 🚨

This weekend, you’ll have the chance to tour the ZooShare biogas plant for yourself for FREE and see how food waste is transformed into renewable energy right here in Toronto.
