He may be small in size, but he inspires us in the biggest ways.

Our son Finn reminds us to slow down, be present, and not sweat the little things. He’s also a big part of why building this business has meant so much to us. It gives us the flexibility to be there for the little moments of his childhood that we know won’t last forever.

He inspires the way we think about the spaces we create, from dreaming up fun projects to finding thoughtful ways to make homes work better for growing families.

And when we bring him to a job site, we get to show him what it means to build something from the ground up, take pride in your work, and do things the right way.

We hope that, in time, he’ll see the value in what we’re building, too: not just a business, but a family legacy.

Summer Favorite: A fresh exterior, built to last. ☀️

There’s more to a siding project than what you see on the surface.

For this summer project, we removed 25-year-old white cedar shingles, addressed rotted trim, and installed new white cedar shingles with a HydroGap drainable house wrap behind them. This added layer creates space for air and moisture to move behind the exterior, helping protect the new siding and the structure beneath it.

We also replaced the rotted wood trim with PVC, a low-maintenance option designed to stand up to the elements for years to come.

It may look like a simple exterior update, but the details behind the finished product are what make the difference.

Another chapter in our fixer-upper story 📖

Every project in our home is designed with one goal in mind: creating spaces that work better for the way our family lives today while building a home we’ll love for years to come.

With this project, we tackled two spaces that make everyday life a little easier.

Our mudroom was completed with custom-built cabinetry, plenty of storage for our growing family, and a handcrafted oak bench built to handle everything from muddy boots to busy mornings.

Just steps away, we gave our guest bathroom a fresh look with a custom oak vanity, classic subway tile in the shower, and a pocket door that helps make the most of the space.

These projects may not be the biggest in the house, but they’re some of the most rewarding. It’s the thoughtful details, quality craftsmanship, and functional design that turn a house into a home—and those are the same principles we bring to every project we build for our clients.

The best design choices are often the ones that quietly make everyday life easier.

Pocket doors are one of those details that can make a surprising difference. Because they slide neatly into the wall, they free up valuable floor and wall space, improve traffic flow, and eliminate the need for a swinging door.

They’re especially useful in bathrooms, laundry rooms, pantries, mudrooms, closets, and narrow hallways, where every square foot counts. In fact, replacing a traditional swinging door with a pocket door can reclaim up to 10 square feet of usable space.

They’re also a smart option for homeowners planning to age in place, making it easier to navigate with walkers or wheelchairs while creating a more open, accessible layout. As an added bonus, they can help reduce noise by eliminating the inevitable door slams that come with busy households.
