The SR 14 East of Bingen Port of Klickitat Access Improvements Project is transforming access between SR 14 and the Port of Klickitat, helping reduce delays caused by rail traffic and improving the movement of commercial vehicles throughout the area.
One of the most unique aspects of this project is the construction of a new roadway beneath active BNSF railroad tracks. This approach required extensive planning, coordination, and innovation to safely build the new access route while maintaining rail operations.
Now approximately 75% complete, the project includes a new access road, retaining walls, roundabout, utility upgrades, storm drainage improvements, ADA accessible infrastructure, and more.
