In a matter of days, the Tunnels to Towers Veterans Village in Harrisburg, PA went from foundations to a 3-story framed structure. The village will consist of a 64-unit apartment complex and 20 one-bedroom “comfort homes” which will provide homes to veterans in need of permanent housing.
The apartment complex structure was designed to use modular construction, a building method where sections of the structure are manufactured off-site and then transported and lifted into position by crane. You can learn more about how Pyramid is working with modular construction and RC2 Construction to bring speed, precision, and cost predictability to this impactful project.

Construction Safety Week 2026 reinforces our efforts and commitment to protecting workers and addresses the persistent challenge of serious injuries and fatalities (SIFs) within the industry. This year we saw how a deeper engagement, a mindset of continuous improvement, mutual accountability and collaboration between trade industry partners can make a difference. Early hazard recognition, use of tools like the Energy Wheel, and applying the Hierarchy of Energy Control in planning and inspections keep high energy risks managed and workers safer. Safety Week is a show of force, an opportunity for people, companies, and even competitors, to work together and celebrate the incredibly hard work by people in our industry who make safety the foundation of everything they do.

Last Friday, we participated in a Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls, which remain one of the leading causes of worker fatalities and life-altering injuries. The most troubling part is that nearly all fall-related incidents are preventable with the right preparation, equipment, communication, and awareness. Fall protection only works when we use it correctly every single time—no shortcuts, no exceptions. Speaking up, slowing down, and choosing the safer action every time is what prevents falls, protects each other, and ensures everyone goes home at the end of the day.

It’s Construction Safety Week! This year we’ll be looking at how key elements of our safety practices protect our team mates on the jobsite and keep us thinking about “Safety First: Last. Always.” Today we talk about Response. Responding is about what we do once a hazard is recognized—not reacting after something goes wrong, but acting in advance to prevent it from causing harm. We can turn hazard recognition into real protection when we build safety into the plan from the start, prioritize direct controls and make adjustments as needed if conditions change. The strongest protection happens when hazardous energy is eliminated, reduced, or isolated through planning, engineered safeguards, and verified field conditions before work begins.

Today the ribbon was cut on a new 3,300 square-foot pocket park in Downtown Harrisburg. Pyramid worked alongside long-time partner Harristown Development Corporation, DM Landscaping, and a team of community leaders to make this new space a possibility. Coronet Park stands between the tall buildings near Market Square and will serve not only as a community park space, but also an event venue and outdoor concert hall. The hardscaping design features long blocks of Pennsylvania Bluestone for seating and ironwork lighting features for evening events. Live music and other festivals are already planned, so make sure to visit the park soon!

Yesterday, at the Saint Patrick Church in Carlisle, members of the church and the community gathered for the groundbreaking for the new Narthex. This new space will improve accessibility, safety, and the overall experience for parishioners and visitors. Changes will include a new roof, modern architectural finishes, new covered entryways, updated sound and lighting systems, new vestry and storage, and improved HVAC. Special attention is being given to making the welcoming and functional for everyone – these enhancements include a full ADA-accessible entrance, and ADA-compliant restrooms and confessional.

The projected finish for the new Narthex will be just in time for Christmas – stay tuned for updates on this exciting project!
