Volt Industrial Plastics to Close June 1 in Honor of Founder Joe Volltrauer
June 1, 2026 — A day of reflection, gratitude, and legacy
Volt Industrial Plastics has announced it will close operations for the day on June 1, 2026, in honor of its founder, Joe Volltrauer - a date that holds deep significance for the company and its history. June 1 would have marked Joe Volltrauer’s 88th birthday, and marks the 34th anniversary of the company he built from the ground up. In recognition of his vision, leadership, and lasting impact, Volt has chosen to pause operations for the day as a tribute to the man whose entrepreneurial spirit continues to shape the organization.
Joe founded Volt Industrial Plastics in 1992 at the age of 54, launching the company on his birthday—a decision that reflected both his personal commitment and his belief in building something meaningful. What began as a focused industrial plastics operation grew into a respected manufacturer known for quality, reliability, and innovation in plastic components and fastening solutions.
Colleagues and those who worked alongside Joe remember him as a hands-on leader with a clear vision and a strong work ethic. He was known for fostering a culture of accountability and pride in craftsmanship—values that remain embedded in Volt’s operations today. His ability to identify opportunities, build relationships, and lead with integrity laid the foundation for decades of growth and customer trust.
“Closing on June 1 is a small but meaningful way for us to honor Joe’s legacy,” Heidi Volltrauer, CEO of Volt Industrial Plastics, also one of Joe’s children. “Volt exists because of his determination and belief in what this company could become. This day allows us to reflect on where we started and the principles that continue to guide us forward.”
While the closure is temporary, the message behind it is lasting: a recognition that the company’s success is rooted not just in products or processes, but in the vision of its founder.
As Volt Industrial Plastics marks 34 years in business, June 1 will stand as more than an anniversary—it will serve as a reminder of the legacy that continues to drive the company forward.
