End of Week 2 Update – Studio House Project 🏠🔨

Here’s a quick look at what the boys have been working on this week.

This is a small studio house featuring a bathroom, kitchen, and open living space. Over the past two weeks, we’ve made great progress, including:

✅ Internal wall cladding
✅ Ceiling installation
✅ Pre-wiring for lights and power points
✅ Electrical works
✅ Structural collar ties installed to strengthen the roof after removing internal posts
✅ New rear porch added

We’re slowly bringing this little studio house to life, and we’re excited to show you more as the project progresses. Stay tuned for the next update where we’ll reveal the back porch and more completed works.

🔨 OSB – Oli & Sons Builders Back At It Again! 🔨

This week, we’re helping a client finish a project that was already underway. Our job includes wall cladding, ceiling installation, and modifying the roof structure to create a more open living space.

The client wanted the two centre posts removed, but removing support posts isn’t as simple as it looks. To keep the roof strong and secure, we’ll be installing collar ties and additional framing support to carry the load properly.

That’s the difference between building and building it right.

🔨 OSB – Oli & Sons Builders Back At It Again! 🔨

Here’s a quick update on what we’ve been working on last week😁

A client approached us to come in and finish a project that had already been started. Our task is to complete the wall cladding, install the ceiling, and make a few structural adjustments to the roof framing.

One of the client’s requests was to create a more open living space by removing the two support posts located in the middle of the house. While removing the posts will certainly open up the area, it also means we need to ensure the roof remains properly supported and structurally sound.

This is where experience and knowledge come into play. Instead of simply removing the posts, we’ll be strengthening the roof structure by installing collar ties and additional framing support where needed. This helps distribute the load correctly and keeps the roof firm, safe, and secure for years to come.

Building isn’t just about putting materials together—it’s about understanding how every piece works together to create a strong and lasting structure.

🏗️✨ OSB has been flat out lately working on renovation works for the boarding school at Montmartre, and I totally forgot to post about this project. But today, I just want to say a HUGE thank you to the Montmartre board members for approving our tender and trusting my team to carry out these important renovations. 🙏🏽

This project involves the full renovation of the ablution blocks — including toilets and shower areas for the senior boys, senior girls, and staff quarters — bringing the facilities back to life and improving the living conditions for everyone using them. 🚿🚽🔨

To be honest, these are the kinds of renovation projects that are needed not only in boarding schools, but in every school around Vanuatu. Hygiene and proper sanitation plays a huge part in keeping our children safe and healthy, especially when it comes to toilets and shower facilities. Clean and safe ablutions should always be a priority for our schools. ❤️🇻🇺

So a HUGE shout out to Montmartre for taking the initiative to renovate their ablution facilities and investing back into the wellbeing of their students and staff. 👏🏽👏🏽

Big thanks as well to Mr. Miki Alick for the trust and confidence in me and the boys to get this work done. 🤝🏽

The work is still ongoing and, God willing, we’re hoping to complete everything by the end of this month. ✅ The boys’ ablution side is now nearly complete with only a few finishing touches left, and we are now moving on to the staff quarters.

And by the end of this project, I know the students and staff will truly appreciate what the school board members are doing for them. 💯

The boys are on site building up this studio house and it’s coming together NICE 👀🏠
Started last week, had a few setbacks with rain and material delays… but nothing we can’t handle.

This week we picking up the pace — no excuses, just progress ⚒️🔥
Started strong from Tuesday, and we’re locked in till the finish.

Stay tuned to see this one come to life 👌🏽
End result gonna speak for itself.

Not sure if the boys working hard… or hardly working 😆 but the results don’t lie.
