𝗔𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗱 & Airbus had a highly productive week working together on closing the remaining gaps to ensure a robust and workable new 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻. The discussions were constructive and focused on key topics, including 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, and the actions required to successfully progress the programme.

We welcomed Safran Electrical & Power to Aerosud in calendar week 30 for a 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁.

The visit focused on production progress, procurement activities, and overall 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲. Discussions covered production planning, material availability, supplier performance, and opportunities to improve collaboration and operational efficiency. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to align on current priorities, address challenges, and agree on actions to support 𝗼𝗻-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 and continued 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.

The Aerosud Engineering team attended with a focus on investigating automated camera-based part inspection solutions, advanced welding technologies, industrial automation, and permanent part marking systems.

The event provided valuable insights into emerging technologies and enabled practical discussions with the many exhibitors. It was encouraging to see solutions that directly address our manufacturing challenges while supporting improved quality, traceability, and productivity. We appreciate the opportunity to engage with industry experts and look forward to exploring future collaboration opportunities.

We are proud to announce a significant achievement for Aerosud and the South African aerospace industry.

Following our EASA Part-IS assessment, gap analysis, implementation programme and final verification audit completed in July, Aerosud has been informed that we are the 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗹 (𝗣𝗢𝗔) 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗔 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁-𝗜𝗦 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗹.

This milestone represents far more than regulatory compliance. EASA Part-IS introduces rigorous requirements for information security management within the aviation industry, requiring organisations to demonstrate robust governance, risk management, operational controls and the protection of aviation safety-related information and systems.

Achieving this approval required dedicated effort, specialist expertise, strong cross-functional collaboration and an unwavering commitment from teams across our organisation.

The approval demonstrates Aerosud's commitment to:

- Protecting aviation safety-related processes and information
- Meeting evolving international regulatory requirements

At Aerosud, we are taking a decisive step forward in our 𝗘𝗦𝗚 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗣𝗩 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 (𝗕𝗘𝗦𝗦).
This initiative combines and expanded Solar-PV System of ~1.5 MWp of solar generation with a high-capacity battery system of ~4.9 MWh, supported by multi‑megawatt charging and inverter capability (up to ~2.8 MW).

Beyond the technical scale, the purpose is clear: to reduce reliance on grid energy, lower long-term energy costs, and significantly improve resilience by ensuring operational continuity during power disruptions.

Importantly, this project also reflects our commitment to responsible operations — integrating cleaner energy sources into our manufacturing environment while strengthening the stability and quality of our power supply.

The ongoing rollout has required close coordination across engineering, construction, safety, and operational teams to ensure safe and effective ex*****on on site.

As we progress, this Solar BESS platform will form a critical foundation for sustainable growth — enabling Aerosud to meet increasing operational demands while advancing our environmental and energy resilience objectives.

Last week, the Aerosud Engineering Analysis & Simulation team attended the annual SIMTEQ Engineering (Cadence | MSC Software partner) (https://za.linkedin.com/company/simteq) Users Conference. It was great to see so many peers and partners from across the industry coming together, sharing insights and reconnecting in person. The event featured MSC Software (https://www.linkedin.com/company/msc-software?trk=public_post-text) users showcasing various applications of the software, demonstrating how simulation is being leveraged to solve increasingly complex engineering challenges and drive more efficient product development. A highlight was the keynote by Vicky Tsianika (https://www.linkedin.com/in/vasilikitsianika), Director of Product Management at Cadence (https://www.linkedin.com/company/cadence/), regarding the use of simulation software to break down silos in product development to achieve more integrated results.

We are pleased to announce the arrival of two key additions to our future manufacturing capability in 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟵:
• 𝟯𝟬𝟬 𝗧𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀
• 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗻
Both units have been successfully delivered directly into the new facility and will play a critical role in expanding our forming and heat treatment capabilities.
Once Building 9 is fully completed and all supporting services are in place, the equipment will undergo a structured 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀, followed by a thorough 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 to ensure all technical and quality requirements are met.
These major assets will form a vital part of our 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁-𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, providing the increased capacity and process capability required to support our customers’ future production ramp-up plans.
This milestone represents another important step in building a 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲-𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
