Requirements

• Conduct condition assessments of electrical installations and provide detailed reports.
• Plan, design, and administer contracts from inception to completion for building services and engineering projects.
• Compile and deliver comprehensive reports at all project stages, including Project Inception, Concept and Viability, Design, tender evaluation, progress, financial status, and project close-out.
• Manage the day-to-day administration associated with active projects.

THE UPPER ELSIESKRAAL RIVER CO-DESIGN WORKSHOP IS COMPLETE!

As part of the City of Cape Town's Living Urban Waterways Programme, Lukhozi Consulting Engineers facilitated a full-day Conceptual Co-Design Workshop with Interested and Affected Parties from the Upper Elsieskraal study area. The workshop took place at the Bellville Civic Centre in January 2026. The study area stretches from the upstream side of the N1 to the Tygerberg train station in the northern suburbs of Cape town, across 6 reaches. The workshop brought together a diverse range of stakeholders to identify opportunities, explore design concepts, and collectively envision the future of this urban waterway.

Community participation is at the heart of projects like these — and the energy, insight, and commitment shown by participants reinforces why inclusive engagement makes for better engineering outcomes. Through structured sessions focused on site experiences, shared challenges, and model-building, participants helped shape design principles for the Upper Elsieskraal area. This is community-led environmental management, engineering and public participation at its best — where local knowledge meets professional expertise.

The workshop focussed on:

1. Collaboratively exploring opportunities and challenges within the river corridor;
2. Identifying priorities for rehabilitation and future improvement;
3. Co-creating nature-based design concepts that support a shared vision for a healthier, safer, and more accessible river space.
