Implats has seven mining operations and the toll-refining business, Impala Refining Services. Our mines are located on three of the most significant PGM deposits in the world: the Bushveld Complex in South Africa, the Canadian Shield in North America and the Great Dyke in Zimbabwe. Implats’ mining operations include Impala Rustenburg, Impala Bafokeng, Zimplats, Marula, Impala Canada’s Lac des Iles, Mimosa and Two Rivers.

Our Two Rivers joint venture, together with African Rainbow Minerals, joined government leaders, traditional authorities and community stakeholders for the official handover of the new Steelpoort River Bridge in Ga-Malekane Village, Limpopo. Led by the Minister of Mineral and Petroleum Resources, Gwede Mantashe, and received by the Premier of Limpopo, Dr Phophi Ramathuba, the project is a collaborative effort to improve infrastructure and enhance road safety and connectivity for residents and surrounding mining communities.

Impala Rustenburg’s Environmental Department recently joined North-West University’s career expo, sharing industry insights and showcasing career opportunities in environmental management. By connecting classroom learning with real-world experience, we’re helping young people to explore future career pathways, develop relevant skills and see the important role environmental professionals play in responsible mining.

Our Two Rivers joint venture is investing in the next generation of mining talent by welcoming 16 artisan trainees and 10 learner miners who began their training journeys in April 2026. Through structured learning and practical experience, these programmes are helping employees build the skills they need to qualify as skilled artisans and miners.

Since launching our Local Enterprise Development programme in 2013, Zimplats has helped grow local businesses from 4 to 23 enterprises. In FY2025 alone, these partnerships supported 2,900 jobs, with businesses such as Combined Technical Services, a youth-led enterprise, demonstrating the power of local enterprise to drive sustainable economic growth.
