That’s a wrap on the Separations MultiOmics Showcase!

What an incredible week of science, innovation and collaboration across three cities!
From Johannesburg to Durban to Cape Town, we brought together an inspiring community of researchers, scientists and industry professionals to explore the rapidly evolving world of MultiOmics and the technologies enabling deeper biological discovery.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making each Showcase a success. Your questions, conversations, engagement and enthusiasm made the events truly special.

Africa’s genomics future is being built by African scientists — and we’re proud to be part of that journey.

We’re excited to share the highlight video from the African BioGenome Project BP 2025 Workshop, hosted at CERI - Centre for Epidemic Response and Innovation and powered by SEPARATIONS, where participants were introduced to the core principles of Illumina NGS technology and the essential experimental methods that support real-world sequencing workflows.
In this video, you’ll hear directly from the scientists shaping Africa’s next generation of genomic capability — their insights, their passion, and their commitment to advancing NGS for Africa, by Africans.

Through this partnership, Wits researchers and students now have access to the Leica MicrosystemsTHUNDER Imaging System — empowering world-class research in infectious and non-communicable disease.
This initiative reflects our commitment to supporting African scientists with cutting-edge technology, building research capacity, and enabling globally competitive innovation.
