It’s exciting to see how the KZN coastline is developing.
Profica has been involved in several hospitality and retail projects that still provide endless entertainment for visitors to these sunny shores.

One that stands out is project managing various upgrades and additions to the facilities at uShaka Marine World, a marine entertainment theme park and tourism destination located on Durban’s Golden Mile. We’ve had many animals watching us work at far-flung hospitality projects in Africa, but dolphins, sharks, seals and penguins were new! 🐬

We project managed the construction of infrastructure, new facilities, pools and a beach club over a three year period. Work included the upgrade of a number of specialist facilities, slides, amusements, a new boathouse for boats used in oceanographic research, as well as a renewed stage set for seal performances. Strict controls regarding noise and dust pollution were in place due to the sensitivity of the animals at the park.

We also project managed the construction of the annex to Moyo restaurant – situated over the ocean next to the park. This double-story, lightweight, and corrosion-resistant glass building provides sweeping panoramic views of the shoreline, harbour, and Moses Mabhida Stadium has stood the test of time, withstanding harsh sea and wind conditions.

We look forward to being involved in many more iconic hospitality projects.

We're excited to share the story behind the successful redevelopment of the Mövenpick Kigali for Accor. The hotel opened in November 2025 and is already proving to be a stand-out addition to Kigali's hospitality offerings, suited to both business and leisure.

As Project Manager and FIDIC Engineer, Profica led the complex transformation of a concrete shell into a world-class, five-star hospitality landmark. Our team navigated the logistical challenges, including managing international supply chains in a landlocked country.

Our Senior Project and Construction Manager for East Africa, Binneman Menigo, notes the importance of Profica's flexible and proactive problem-solving approach: "Profica provided boots on the ground and kept the shoelaces tied! It definitely required seeing around corners and thinking out of the box in terms of construction methodologies.”

We’re excited to share that the structure of this hotel development in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, where Profica is proudly acting as Project Manager and Principal Agent (FIDIC Engineer), officially topped out in November.

To date, the project has achieved an impressive 353,586 cumulative safe working hours, reflecting disciplined site management and a strong ethos to health and safety.

The dual-branded development comprises 170 keys, encompassing standard rooms and long-stay serviced apartments, delivered to stringent international brand standards and targeting EDGE Advanced Certification.

The building extends over four floors and will feature an all-day dining restaurant, ballroom, co-working and flexible meeting spaces and offices, as well as a fully equipped gym.

MEP first- and second-fix installations are well underway, with interior finishing progressing at full steam.

Proud to have delivered expert Project and Cost Management for the state-of-the-art KOFISI Casa Anfa fit-out in Casablanca Financial City, a premier flexible workspace launched earlier this year. 🏙️

We successfully managed the delivery of a 300-person bespoke HQ for anchor tenant TikTok spanning three floors, a landmark project in this design-forward workspace. Custom-designed by KOFISI’s in-house team, the space is a benchmark for modern workplace solutions.

KOFISI Casa Anfa offers a prime landing for global businesses, featuring customisable suites, premium amenities, and dedicated support.
Profica’s role was critical in ensuring the fit-out project was delivered efficiently, on budget, and to the highest quality standards through meticulous coordination and cost control. We could bring our solid understanding of the local market and suppliers to bear to ensure excellent delivery.
