Crane inspections are designed to assess the safety of equipment, detect wear and tear and identify maintenance needs for safe, productive operation.

Inspections can also verify that your equipment complies with current local standards and regulations, helping you avoid costly fines and disruption of operations. In addition to regular crane inspections it is beneficial to develop a comprehensive plan of preventive maintenance, scheduled repairs and advanced services that take a deeper look at your crane and its components.

With a coordinated program, you can more effectively maintain a safer, more reliable and compliant operation.

Out of sight shouldn't mean out of mind. Coupling failure rarely announces itself gradually. When it happens, it can be sudden and the consequences severe.

Most crane operators and facility managers spend a lot of time thinking about the big, visible things on an overhead crane: the hook, wire rope, brake and load. And that makes sense because those are the things you can see.

But some of the most consequential components in a hoist are the ones you can't easily see, tucked away inside the hoist, doing critical work on every single lift. The hoist coupling is one of them. Failure of a hoist coupling may lead to a load drop scenario and subsequent reliance on secondary braking such as regenerative braking or mechanical load brakes.

The has been designed to uncover issues that may lead to coupling failure. Couplings are inspected to look for wear and defects. Wear can occur because of a loss of lubricant and un-lubricated metal-on-metal contact can cause the metal to wear.

In this inspection the coupling is taken apart and cleaned of old grease. The surfaces are then visually inspected. After inspection, non-destructive testing may need to be performed.

No matter what you are lifting – you are probably using a number of different load lifting attachments in your daily operations.

The safe use of lifting attachments requires regular inspections to make sure they are working properly, and an identification tag can help you keep track of the equipment and their inspection information.

The Slings and Accessories Inspection combines a professional inspection of your non-maintainable load lifting attachments and accessories with radio frequency identification (RFID) tags to record accessory inspection data. A smartphone app helps you quickly and reliably identify attachments.
