Great to have the UNSW Redback Racing team visit Product Lab this week.

Our team is currently supporting theirs to optimise their front-wheel uprights — precision components that need to be ultra lightweight for race conditions.

While they were here, we showed off our 5-axis CNC machine and shared some DFM feedback on design. It's great to see the innovative thinking these engineering students bring — and we were glad to be able to demonstrate showing how their design decisions play out on the shop floor.

This is exactly the sort of co-collaboration we're here for. 💪🏼 🏎️

We recently hosted the team at Sorensen HQ. 🏁

We're proud to be sponsoring Redback Racing again this year, manufacturing parts for their car right here in Brookvale. During the tour we showed them how we'll be using our 5-axis CNC to bring their components to life.

We've been making high quality precision parts for more than 50 years. Healthcare, med tech, aerospace, firefighting, energy, parts for ships and race cars … pretty much anything you can imagine.

Tiger Jaws is something we created by applying our capability on a problem in our own job shop. We wanted to find a way to save time that's lost on CNC setup between jobs, so we designed something better. The Tiger Jaws Chameleon Clamp cuts changeover time by up to 70%.

From the original concept for Tiger Jaws, we worked to develop it from prototype - with the help of Sorensen Product Lab, which helps our customers go from problem to prototype to commercial product. CAD, FEA, CNC machining, 3D printing, design for manufacture - all under the one roof in Brookvale.

We're on the ground at SIMTOS 2026 in Seoul this week, one of the world's great manufacturing technology shows — and it's given us a moment to reflect on what Australian manufacturing actually represents.
