Quality starts long before our coal reaches customers.

From analysing borehole cores that help shape future mine planning, to our onsite lab teams carefully managing coal blending, every stage in the process plays a role in delivering a consistent product.

Our teams work around the clock to monitor quality and ensure every shipment meets specific standards before it heads to port, where our logistics and marketing departments across Brisbane and Dubai coordinate vessel loading and delivery to customers around the world.

Heart Week 2026

Looking after your heart is part of looking after yourself.

This Heart Week, we’re encouraging our people and community to take a moment to think about heart health. At Ensham, wellbeing is part of working safely and supporting one another.

In mining, looking after yourself matters on and off site. Small steps like staying active, eating well, getting enough rest and checking in with your GP can all make a difference.

Heart Week is Australia’s national heart health awareness week, held from 4–10 May 2026, and it’s a good reminder that prevention starts with everyday habits.

At Ensham, safety isn’t just a priority. It’s a commitment we stand by every day. This World Day for Safety and Health at Work, we’re recognising the people behind our operations and the shared responsibility we all have to look out for one another.

This year has had it's challenges, particularly given recent weather events. But we’re incredibly proud of how our team has stepped up and supported each other through it all. We’re continuing to strengthen our safety culture and stay true to our motto, “Better Today Than Yesterday,” every step of the way.

No matter where you work, check in, look out for your mates, and stay safe.

ANZAC Day is a time to reflect on their courage and the legacy they have left for future generations.

Today we take a moment to remember and honour the service and sacrifice of the Australian and New Zealand men and women who have served their countries.

Lest we forget.

Pumps like this one play a crucial role underground.

Water management is an integral part of operations at Ensham, with equipment like this working constantly to ensure water is managed and removed from roadways and active areas.

It’s not always seen, but is essential — supporting safe access, protecting equipment, and helping every crew on site do their job.

Just one part of a much bigger system that keeps Ensham running.

Following the completion of Ensham’s 2025 rehabilitation campaign, recent January and February rainfall has further strengthened ground cover across the site, with new growth emerging across rehabilitated areas.

Each year, Ensham establishes a cover crop of Japanese millet to stabilise soil and support early ecosystem development. This season, the crop has attracted a variety of birdlife, with cockatoos and emus frequently observed feeding on the millet. While the millet provides temporary cover, it plays an important role in protecting the land until Ensham’s cattle‑grazing pasture begins to germinate.

Improved Pasture and Native Species—including Panic Grass, Rhodes Grass, Stylosanthes, and Bancroft’s Wattle—have now begun to establish following the January rainfall, marking strong progress toward Ensham’s vegetation milestones.

Meanwhile, Ensham’s private rehabilitation contractor continues blasting works in Yongala North to break through an existing rock shelf. This will enable dozers to reshape the steep highwall to a safe gradient of 10%–15%, suitable for future cattle grazing and safe human access once the landform is fully rehabilitated.
