The University of Tasmania Capital Works Planning & Delivery team took us on an exclusive site tour of the new IMAS Taroona facility.
Designed by Preston Lane Architects and constructed by Vos Constructions, this impressive project will provide a contemporary research and teaching facility supporting world-leading marine, fisheries and aquaculture research in Tasmania.
It was inspiring to hear from and about the many talented women who have played key roles in bringing the project to life, including:
Molly Christensen - Aquaculture Facilities Manager IMAS
Pam Quayle - Principal Lab Manager IMAS
Lissette Robertson - Taroona Lab Manager IMAS
Amanda Strickland - Project Coordinator UTas
Danielle Stokes - Project Admin UTas
Sara Chugg - Former Associate at Preston Lane
Galina Enright - Project Manager BridgePro
A big thank you to the University of Tasmania Capital Works Planning & Delivery team, Preston Lane Architects and Vos Constructions for hosting such an insightful tour and sharing the story behind the project.
It's also a great opportunity to acknowledge the broader consultant and delivery team whose expertise has contributed to this outstanding facility, including COVA, Gandy & Roberts, Engineering Solutions Tasmania (EST), Coulter Advisory, Play Street, Andrew Sutherland Consulting Engineers, Verto and Slattery.
Projects like this are a reminder that great outcomes are the result of strong collaboration across Tasmania's design and construction industry.
