SHAPE Australia recently hosted NAWIC Tasmania on a behind the scenes tour of LUMINA at The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hobart. This impressive project is soon to be Hobart’s newest event space.

A big thank you to the SHAPE site team and Lightbox Project Management for taking the time to show us through the build, now in its final stages.

The complexity of delivering a project in this location was clear, and our members valued the insights provided into the construction design, methodology and technical challenges involved in bringing this venue to life.

NAWIC Tasmania is pleased to announce the upcoming site tour of the Lumina project this Tuesday, proudly hosted by SHAPE Australia the lead firm delivering this exciting new function centre at The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hobart.

This tour offers a behind‑the‑scenes look at the craftsmanship and collaboration shaping Lumina’s progress.

Lumina is poised to transform the events landscape and address the growing demand for a venue that is both versatile and captivating. In an architectural feat, Lumina is remarkably column-free, making it a clear-span event space designed for openness and unobstructed visibility.

We also acknowledge the outstanding contributions of the project partners — fjcstudio and Lightbox PM — whose expertise continues to elevate this landmark project.

We look forward to welcoming all to join us, tickets available on link below or in our bio.

A huge thank you to Planned Performance and Hutchinson Builders for taking NAWIC on a behind the scenes tour of the Hobart Airport Terminal Upgrade project this week.

We got to witness the sheer scale of construction staging and the impressive coordination required to upgrade an existing building, while keeping Hobart airport operational. These works are set to double the terminal footprint for Tasmania’s growing passenger numbers.

We can’t wait to see the finished works!

We’re usually the ones planning events, handing out awards, and celebrating others… so this one felt a little different (and very special).

The Tasmanian Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction is incredibly proud to have taken out the Best Practice in Workplace Wellbeing category at the 2026 Tasmania LiFE Awards.

Presented by the Tasmanian Su***de Prevention Community Network, Relationships Australia-Tasmania and Su***de Prevention Australia and proudly sponsored by TasNetworks this recognition reflects the passion and impact of our volunteers and community.

Even more exciting—we’re now heading to Sydney as national finalists on 29 April.

A huge thank you to our volunteers, members, and national team. We’re proud, a little surprised, and very grateful.

This could be yours. For free.

As part of our Hygiene for Her Project, we’re giving away 5 GO Site Essentials Packs to crews across Australia.

Because access to hygiene on site isn’t just about convenience
it’s about dignity, safety, and making worksites accessible for everyone.

Too many women are still working 8+ hour shifts without proper facilities.

That’s why we created the GO Site Essentials Pack.

Know a crew, company, or tradie who genuinely needs one?

Tag them below so we can get these packs to the people who need them most especially regional and remote sites.

Entries close 23rd March
Winners announced 31st March
