Dragline Shutdown Complete ✅

Another strong result from the Richglen team with the successful completion of works on a Bucyrus-Erie 2570 Dragline.

Over 28 days, the crew delivered more than 33,000 work hours RI-free, completing a major scope that included tub wear plate replacement, structural repairs, hoist, drag and swing gearing overhauls, along with a range of electrical upgrades ⚙️⚡

A fantastic effort by everyone involved, delivering the shutdown safely and efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on quality throughout the project 👷‍♂️

Another example of what can be achieved through careful planning, teamwork and commitment on site.

⚡ Team Building with the Richglen Electrical Team ⚡

Recently, our Electrical Management and Supervisory Team swapped the worksite for Mackay Escape Rooms and took on a challenge that didn't involve permits, breakdowns, or fault finding.

The afternoon tested teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills, while also confirming that even experienced leaders can completely overlook a clue that's right in front of them.

There were plenty of laughs, a few questionable strategies, and more than one moment where hindsight proved to be a wonderful thing. Most importantly, it was a great opportunity to strengthen connections and reinforce the value of working together toward a common goal.

Thankfully, everyone escaped safely and returned to work the next day.

Leonie is our go-to for Supply & Logistics at Richglen's Blackwater office and has been a valued member of the team for the past seven months.

When asked what she enjoys most about working at Richglen, her answer was simple, the friendly team environment and the great people she works alongside every day.

Outside of work, you'll often find Leonie helping out with her husband's speedway car, spending quality time with family, or enjoying a classic pub feed - a crumbed steak with veggies is hard to beat!

This week we’re shining the spotlight on Shane, one of the key faces behind our Electrical team.

Known around the traps as “Angry” (although we’re still yet to figure out why 😅), Shane brings a wealth of experience, leadership and industry knowledge to our projects across the Bowen Basin.

From leading crews on site to supporting safe and efficient project delivery, Shane plays a huge role in keeping operations moving and mentoring the next generation coming through.

A few quick facts about Shane:
⚡ Experience: 30+ years in the mining/heavy industrial electrical space.
⚡ Favourite tool: My brain, it hasn't let me down just yet.
⚡ Best thing about the job: Mentoring younger electricians and making them think.
⚡ Go-to camp feed: Medium rare steak cooked to order if it's an option.
