FAQ - "Will I have power in a blackout if I have a battery?"

Yes, IF you install a battery and inverter combination that's capable of it. Not all batteries can provide power in a blackout situation - go figure!

When we connect a battery to a grid-connected solar power system, we separate the switchboard into "essential" and "non-essential" circuits. We then wire the battery backup to the essential circuits only, so that the battery will last as long as possible in a blackout or power outage situation. You don't want the battery to run flat and lose a fridge full of food because you've had the air con blasting....

The goal of a battery is to keep your essential items (such as power points and lights) going for as long as possible, because you never know just how long a blackout is going to last.

FAQ - "Do you offer finance for solar/battery systems?"

We can put you in touch with financiers (like Plenti and Parker Lane), BUT we don’t provide interest-free finance options. Some banks are now offering specific 'green' loans for solar as well.
Electrical Sensations is not a licensed financier and can’t give advice on which financial products to use. We prefer to leave arranging finance to the finance experts, and we stick to what we do best – installing quality solar, battery and electrical systems.

"Are solar batteries a fire risk?” Let’s talk about it 👇

Short answer: Not when installed correctly.

Long Answer: Battery safety isn’t about luck, it’s about doing things properly. If you’re weighing up whether a home battery is safe, these are the things that actually matter:

✅ Using certified products installed by licensed professionals. This also means making sure the installation has the right safety equipment in place - things like bollards to protect the battery from accidental knocks or the classic “I swear I wasn’t that close to the wall” moment in the garage.

🛠 Avoiding DIY or unlicensed installs. Most incidents come from cutting corners, not from the batteries themselves.

🏆 Choosing reputable brands with proven safety records.

A safe battery system isn’t complicated. It’s just done properly, by people who know what they’re doing (and please don’t let Uncle Kev “have a crack at it”.... 😜).

FAQ - "Are the installers employed by you or are they subcontracted?"

Our solar installers and electricians aren’t subcontractors - they’re our own team, trained up, aligned with our values, and committed to doing quality work. They’re a friendly, down‑to‑earth crew who care about doing the job properly and treating people well. This is how we've always done it and something we're quite proud of 😄

We’ve put together a quick guide that answers the most common safety questions, from busting fire myths to explaining Australian installation standards. 👇

Worried about battery safety? You’re not alone. As more Aussie homes turn to solar and battery storage, questions around fire risk and safe installation are becoming more common.
