🌸 Spring has officially sprung at NthStar! 🌸

Today we decided the corporate wear could take the day off and swapped it for bright colours, sunshine vibes and a few cheeky mimosas. 🥂☀️, because apparently the first day of Spring is a perfectly acceptable reason to have bubbles at work… and honestly, we’re not arguing. 😂

We also handed out a few of our very prestigious (and completely ridiculous) NthStar Awards 🏆, celebrating everything from our office legends to the personalities that keep us entertained on a daily basis.

There were laughs, questionable award titles, colourful outfits and perhaps a little more competitiveness over the voting than expected. 👀😂. But behind all the silliness, it was really just a chance to stop, reconnect and enjoy each other’s company. Because sometimes it’s the little things that make a workplace special, having a laugh together, celebrating the personalities that make up our team, and creating moments that have absolutely nothing to do with deadlines, reports or job lists. 💛

Here’s to a new season, brighter days and continuing to grow and bloom together. 🌻✨

Another Major Loss Make Safe actioned by NthStar.

Our NSW team was engaged to assist following a significant fire at a storage facility in Sydney. Our team was engaged on the claim to complete a complex make-safe due to concerns surrounding the structural integrity of the property.

Working closely with engineers, our team designed and fabricated a custom propping system to mitigate the risk and provide a safe and practical solution.

Great work by the NSW team. 👏

CARPENTER & LABOURER WANTED – MUDGEERABA

NthStar Constructions is looking for a Carpenter and a Construction Labourer to join our team, primarily working on a commercial new build in Mudgeeraba for the next 8–9 months.

CARPENTER
We’re looking for someone reliable, capable and equipped with their own tools. Most work will be at Mudgeeraba, although there may be days or weeks spent on other projects within our portfolio, including insurance repairs and rectification work.
A company vehicle and fuel arrangement may be negotiable for the right person.
The position will initially be fixed-term, with the possibility of permanent employment if you perform well and a suitable position is available.

LABOURER
We’re looking for a hardworking and reliable labourer who is keen to learn and gain experience on a commercial construction site.
Previous commercial experience is helpful but not essential. Someone based in Mudgeeraba or the surrounding Gold Coast area would be preferred.

Both applicants must have a current White Card and a good attitude toward safety, teamwork and attendance.
These are employee positions paid on wages, with superannuation, annual leave, personal/sick leave and applicable employee entitlements.

🏗️ 6,600m² of roofing successfully completed!

Following significant hail damage from a major storm event ⛈️, NthStar Constructions was engaged to undertake the make-safe works, securing the affected areas and implementing temporary measures to help protect the property from further exposure while the permanent repair strategy was developed. With the make-safe in place, our team then progressed to the full replacement of the 6,600m² roof.

One of the biggest challenges on this project was completing the works within a live operational environment. Careful planning and coordination were essential, with the works carried out in carefully planned stages to allow the site to remain operational while the roof replacement progressed. 🔨

🏗️ With crane lifts, multiple trades, site logistics and weather conditions all needing to be coordinated, communication between everyone involved was key.

From the make-safe works through to the completed roof replacement, the project required careful coordination at every stage, resulting in 6,600m² of new roofing successfully installed while working around the ongoing operations of the site. ✅

A great example of the planning, coordination and teamwork that goes on behind the scenes when delivering large-scale insurance repairs in complex live environments. 👷‍♂️

A great time connecting at the CQIB Convention! 👋

We were pleased to attend this year’s Council of Queensland Insurance Brokers (CQiB) Convention, catching up with familiar faces, meeting new industry partners and making some great connections along the way.

Events like these are always a fantastic opportunity to step away from the day-to-day, share conversations with others in the industry and continue building strong relationships.

💧 Completed Project | Queens Wharf Brisbane

Following an escape of water incident on Level 7M of the residential tower at Queens Wharf Brisbane, NthStar Constructions was engaged to complete the reinstatement works once the emergency response had been finalised.

After water extraction, decontamination, structural drying, and hygienist clearance, our team carried out the reinstatement of the affected areas, restoring them to their pre-loss condition with a focus on quality, attention to detail, and efficient project delivery.

Projects like this highlight the importance of a coordinated response between restoration specialists and builders to ensure properties are safely and professionally returned to service.

A great outcome for everyone involved, and another successful reinstatement delivered by the NthStar team.
