National Indigenous History Month is a time to recognize, learn about, and celebrate the rich histories, cultures, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.
As builders, we have a unique opportunity—and responsibility—to help shape communities while respecting the lands on which we work and the Indigenous Peoples who have stewarded them for generations.
Meaningful reconciliation begins with understanding the past, acknowledging the truths of Indigenous experiences, and committing to learning from Indigenous voices and perspectives. Throughout this month, we encourage our employees, partners, clients, and industry colleagues to take time to explore Indigenous history and culture. Whether through reading, listening to Indigenous storytellers, attending community events, supporting Indigenous-owned businesses, or participating in educational opportunities, every step toward learning helps build stronger relationships and a more inclusive future.
We also recognize National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21, an opportunity to celebrate the diverse cultures, achievements, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples across Canada.
June marks National Indigenous History Month, a time to reflect, learn and celebrate the cultures and contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples.
Across Canada, Indigenous businesses are creating opportunities, strengthening communities and bringing forward new ways of thinking, leading and growing our economy.
CCIB is honoured to walk alongside Indigenous entrepreneurs, supporting their continued success and advancing prosperity for generations to come.
