Each filter ordered from us is a custom order and we provide our services as such. Filters are customized by size: Outside Diameter, Inside Diameter and Height. Medias: Spunbonded Polyester, 80/20, Fire Retardant and Aluminized Medias, just to name a few. Pleat counts, screens and wraps are all customized based on the application the filter is being used for.

According to the Filter Family legend, back when Grandpa Dusty first started working, there was a filter at a sawmill that went 40 YEARS without a single changeout. 😳 It finally gave out one day, but Grandpa Dusty SWEARS its spirit still wheezes through the rafters on foggy nights, haunting any facility that forgets its maintenance schedule. 👻

Nobody can confirm the story, but we CAN confirm that Pleaty listened to every word, took notes, and decided to dress up as the Filter-geist this year. 😂

Does PTFE membrane help an industrial filter last longer? 🤔 Yes, and Tex is here to help demonstrate how in 3 photos!

1. He starts off being covered in dust, the way any filter looks after hours of collecting it.

2. He gets a burst of compressed air to release the buildup.

3. And just like that, he's clean again! 🫧 🧽

Here's how it works:

With standard filter media, fine dust is able to work its way deep into the fibres, where a pulse of air can't reach it, and that is where it stays. Over time, that trapped dust builds up so much that it blocks the airflow and forces a filter replacement.

But with a PTFE membrane, the dust stays on the surface of the filter. Because the membrane repels both water and oil, particles can't embed themselves in the media, and each pulse of air is able to remove it adequately. This allows airflow to remain steady between filter changeouts, resulting in fewer replacements over time.

The use of PTFE membrane on filter media is especially practical for applications with fine or sticky dust, like powder coating, welding, and pharma.

More filtration efficiency is always better, right? 🤔 According to Jamie, not quite!

It sounds backwards, because in theory, a higher efficiency rating should mean cleaner air. While this is true, and higher efficiency media DOES catch finer particles, it also creates more resistance to airflow. That resistance shows up as a higher pressure drop in your filtration system, which puts additional strain on your fan, increases energy consumption, and can shorten the life of the filter itself.

Basically, your system needs to be able to handle that resistance. If it can't, you end up trading a perfectly efficient filter for one with capture rates you may not have even needed in the first place! 😬
