That's a wrap on this year's Global Energy Show Canada!

The CAOEC team had a fantastic week connecting with industry leaders from across the energy sector, and it was great to see so many of our members and partners on the exhibition floor, including Black Diamond Group, COSL Canada Ltd., E3 Lithium, Indian Resource Council, Katch Kan, SLB, and YOKE Inc.

We were also proud to partner with Careers in Energy and SATO Canada for an Energy in Motion event that welcomed youth aged 18 to 24 for a full day of experiential learning and networking. Participants had the opportunity to explore interactive stations showcasing the diverse career opportunities and innovative technologies driving Canadian energy.

Thank you to dmg events and everyone who helped make this year's conference such a success. We look forward to seeing everyone again in 2027!

CAOEC is proud to be part of this week’s Global Energy Show Canada.

The conference brings together industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping Canada’s energy future.

The first two days featured keynote addresses from the Honourable Tim Hodgson, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, and Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe, who shared their perspectives on energy development, economic growth, and Canada's role in meeting growing global demand.

CAOEC President & CEO Mark Scholz also moderated an engaging panel discussion on the Strategic Stage exploring the future of pipeline development in Canada and what it will take to advance major energy infrastructure projects. Thank you to our distinguished panelists for sharing their insights and expertise:
• Jason Balasch, Vice-President, Business Development & Commercial Services, Trans Mountain
• Michelle Carr, CEO and Commissioner, BC Energy Regulator
• Heather Exner-Pirot, Senior Fellow and Director, Energy, Natural Resources and Environment, Macdonald-Laurier Institute
• Tracy Sletto, CEO, Canada Energy Regulator

In addition, CAOEC participated in an Executive Leadership Roundtable focused on workforce development and attracting the next generation of talent to Canada's energy sector.

We look forward to another day of valuable conversations and collaboration as the conference continues. Stay tuned for more updates!

CAOEC has released a statement following the Alberta and federal governments’ announced agreement on carbon pricing.

CAOEC President & CEO Mark Scholz stated: “An agreement to increase the industrial carbon price risks slowing our momentum at a time when global demand for responsibly produced Canadian energy continues to grow.

"For Canada’s drilling rig and service rig sector, such rising costs can directly impact investment decisions, reducing rig activity and impacting the jobs and economic opportunities our industry creates in rural, remote, and Indigenous communities.”

Our members support more than 80,000 direct and indirect jobs and play a critical role in keeping Canada’s energy sector moving forward.
