See How Our Solution Reduced Roughing Cycle Time by 47%!

Tired of lengthy rough milling operations and slow material removal? We recently helped a customer tackling QT100 torch-cut material dramatically reduce their cycle time on a roughing operation.

They were previously using a shorter 4-flute endmill, which required two passes and a slower feed rate. This led to a roughing cycle time of 10 minutes and 22 seconds.

We introduced them to the Kennametal's KOR6RA0625R188HBR030C KSCM15, a 5/8" diameter endmill with a 1.875" max depth of cut. With its longer flute length, our customer was able to achieve amazing results:
◾ Single pass full-depth roughing (1.5" Axial, .05" Radial)
◾ Faster speeds and feeds (3361 RPM, 75.0 IPM)
◾ A remarkable 5-minute reduction in cycle time – down to just 5 minutes and 30 seconds!

Our customer was thrilled, noting the "increase in speed and chip control," adding that "with the chip breakers on the endmill, the chips are smaller and easier to manage and clean."

The Government of Alberta and CME have partnered up to bring Alberta manufacturers the opportunity to level up their productivity with up to $30k grants for new equipment. The Government of Alberta is investing $4M, so that our manufacturers can stay ahead of the game.

This is great news for Albertan manufacturers that have been looking to take their productivity to the next level, but haven't been able to find space in their budget. Big shout out to the Government of Alberta and CME for collaborating on this to boost our manufacturers' capabilities.
