Meet our speakers at PSE 2026

From 31 August to 3 September, the plasma and surface engineering community meets in Erfurt and Evatec brings two talks from our Technology Development team to the program.

Our speakers Fabian Manke and Radek Žemlička share fresh insights from our work in low-damage deposition and directional sputtering, two deep dives into the physics that lets our customers build the next generation of devices.

Congratulations to our graduating apprentices! 🎓

We're proud to celebrate the successful completion of the apprenticeships of six talented young professionals at Evatec:

We celebrated this milestone together on July 1, 2026. Thank you for your dedication and hard work over the past three or four years. We wish you all the best and great success in your future careers!

A big thank you also goes to our apprentice trainers who guided our apprentices throughout their journey. We're especially pleased that two of our graduates are staying at Evatec.

Did you know that Evatec apprentices attend a training camp?

New Evatec apprentices have the opportunity to participate in a training camp organized by Oerlikon Balzers. The first week focuses on getting to know each other and building a strong foundation for the journey ahead.

During the camp, apprentices engage in a variety of activities such as learning about the IPERKA project process, receiving their uniforms and personal protective equipment, and gaining hands-on experience with different tools. They also take part in team activities like a short hike and a brain teaser quiz, while getting their first impressions of vocational school.

This introductory training camp has been a tradition for over 30 years, fostering camaraderie and preparing apprentices for their future careers.

Evatec is pleased to announce that we are expanding our collaboration with Silicon Austria Labs (SAL) as they installed a second CLUSTERLINE® 200 thin film cluster tool at their Villach facility. This investment strengthens our shared focus on developing advanced thin film processes for the high-performance metal and nitride films behind emerging Wireless, Power, and MEMS applications.

The new system adds advanced etch, sputter, and high-temperature processing capabilities, integrating Evatec's custom HiPIMS source technology.

The partnership has been further reinforced by a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding between our two companies.
