Since the sale of its environmental technology division at the end of October 2025, the business has been consolidated into three divisions:
• Automotive: painting technology, final assembly, testing and filling technology as well as production technology for battery electrodes
• Industrial Automation: assembly and test systems for automotive components, medical devices, and consumer goods as well as balancing technology solutions
• Woodworking: machinery and equipment for the woodworking industry

At yesterday's Commerzbank/ODDO Corporate Conference in Frankfurt investors had the opportunity to deep dive into our woodworking business 🪵 together with HOMAG CEO Dr. Daniel Schmitt (left). He vividly explained HOMAG's leading-edge technology position which is based on automation competence and perfectly managing the wide range of variants in furniture and kitchen production. Today, Dr. Lars Friedrich (left) and Dr. Daniel Schmitt (right) were appointed to the Board of Management of Dürr AG with effect from October 1, 2026. 🤝

With the appointment of Dr. Lars Friedrich and Dr. Daniel Schmitt, the heads of the Dürr Group’s two largest divisions become full members of the Board of Management. Previously, they had already been part of the extended management circle. Dr. Lars Friedrich heads the Automotive division with the painting and final assembly technology for the automotive industry, and has been with Dürr since 2018. Dr. Daniel Schmitt — with Dürr since 2017 — is at the helm of the Woodworking division, which specializes in woodworking technology under the HOMAG brand.

In addition, the Supervisory Board of Dürr AG agreed that CEO Dr. Jochen Weyrauch will assume interim responsibility for finance from October 1 to November 14, 2026. As announced in May, Alexandra Dambeck will join Dürr AG as new CFO as of November 15, 2026.

The Dürr Group increased order intake by 13% in Q2 yoy. The EBIT margin b.e.e. slightly expanded to 4.3% on somewhat lower sales (-2%). Especially the Automotive division and Industrial Automation's balancing technology business developed nicely. Automotive benefitted from larger orders in Brasil and India and sees more capex planning activity in the US. Balancing was supported by high demand from the power generation sector as AI data centres require a lot of energy. The Woodworking division's margin increased in Q2 while investment reluctance in the furniture industry continued.

At BBS Automation, the efficiency program Vector has been launched to tap business potential in automation technology and to secure future profitable growth.

A small robot that can make tea — it sounds unusual at first, but that’s exactly what Christoph Renz built in his free time for himself and his colleagues. “Black tea needs to steep for four minutes. If a call comes in and you forget about the tea, it just doesn’t taste right anymore,” explains our Dürr colleague.

You can use a k**b to set the steeping time in 30-second intervals. Then all you have to do is insert the tea bag and press the start button, and this little tea-making helper, affectionately known as “Mr. T”, gets to work. It hangs the tea bag in the cup, waits for the set time, removes the tea bag, lets it drip for ten seconds, tosses the tea bag in the trash — now enjoy! 🍵

Using as little purging medium as possible during the painting process 🎨 and minimizing the amount of paint residue that must be disposed of as hazardous waste helps save money for automakers and protects the environment. 🌱

It is precisely with this goal in mind that the Dürr winning team of the 𝗛𝗲𝗶𝗻𝘇 𝗗ü𝗿𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 in the Sustainability category has expanded the 𝗘𝗰𝗼Supply P special paint supply in such a way that paint loss, purging medium and purging times are drastically reduced. 📉 Find out more in the video. 🎬
