The safe disinfection of liquid sugar is essential for the production of sensitive products such as soft drinks, energy drinks and milk-based drinks. Alongside technological solutions, the 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 plays a particularly crucial role in this regard.

The use of UV radiation in food processing is currently established in Germany primarily for applications such as drinking water, surfaces or air.

However, the treatment of liquid foodstuffs (e.g. juices, milk or liquid sugar) may be authorised if appropriate evidence of safety is available. ProMinent already has this evidence for sucrose liquid sugar – an important step towards its safe use.

Our next optical sensor is ready to launch: DULCOEYE SAC.

It measures the adsorption and enables of the correlation of the spectral absorption coefficient (SAC) and the standard parameters UVT, COD, BOD, TOC and DOC.

We've developed it specifically for use in disinfection processes and continuous monitoring in potable water and wastewater treatment.

With DULCOTEST SurfaceGuard, ProMinent is expanding its portfolio to include a sensor for real-time monitoring of biofilm and scaling.

The system – comprising a sensor and transmitter – measures layer thicknesses from 0 to 200 µm, emulates real process surfaces and supports the targeted control of cleaning and dosing processes.

DULCOTEST SurfaceGuard uses two sensors with differently configured surface temperatures. This enables the system to distinguish between biofilm and inorganic deposits.

This provides a better basis for dosing disinfectants or antiscalants.
