Ten years ago, I was building computer vision systems before "AI" was a buzzword. This week, Afriq IQ published a deep dive on that journey and on how DevisionX stayed relevant through three technology transitions.
The piece captures what I believe most about building in this field:
Most companies built on a single technology generation don't survive the next one. We went from classical computer vision → deep learning → generative AI → multimodal and physical AI. Each transition meant honestly asking whether our capabilities were still competitive and adding the new layer before we were forced to.
It also covers why we bet on sovereign AI: regulated sectors (government, banking, healthcare, insurance) can't use public cloud APIs. They need AI inside their own infrastructure, under their own control. Most AI companies treat that as a barrier. We built our entire architecture around it.
Grateful to the AfriqIQ team for the thoughtful analysis. Full article 👇
