As part of our Penarth Escarpment project for Vale of Glamorgan Council, Jacob, Leo, Daisy and Rhian visited St Cyres School this morning to deliver an engaging careers session for students. 👷‍♂️🏫

Working alongside Careers Wales and school staff, we developed and delivered two one-hour sessions during the morning for around 50 Year 7 and Year 9 students. 📚

The sessions introduced students to Walters, highlighting the wide range of roles and opportunities available to young people considering a career in the civil engineering industry. 🦺💡

Our Apprentice Engineers, Jacob and Leo, also shared insights into the Penarth Escarpment project itself, connecting the work directly to topics the students are currently studying in their geography lessons. 🛠️

Over the last year, our team at our Bro Tathan utilities site have been proudly running a Safety Champion initiative to encourage everyone to play an active role in improving safety standards and behaviours across the project. 👷‍♂️

Each month, we have recognised one Safety Champion each month for their valuable contributions, whether through raising concerns, submitting observation cards, promoting safer ways of working, or leading by example on site. 👏

The initiative has helped drive positive change across the project, improving behaviours and compliance with procedures, as well as promoting a more proactive and resilient safety culture. ✅🦺

Thank you to everyone at Bro Tathan for supporting the initiative and continuing to prioritise safety in everything we do. 😊👍

We’re proud to support 30 members of the Walters team as they prepare for the Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday 4 October 2026. 🏃🏃

This challenge is a great opportunity for colleagues across the business to come together, support one another, and promote positive wellbeing through running and teamwork. 👍

We’re also pleased to be working with CIRF UK Athletics Coach Hector, who will help motivate and guide our team as they prepare for the Half Marathon. 😊

We will also be announcing in the coming weeks the charity we will be supporting as part of our Charity of the Year initiative.

Good luck to everyone taking part, we’re looking forward to cheering the team on every step of the way. 🏃👏

As part of our social value commitments for our Haverfordwest Castle project for Pembrokeshire County Council, we were proud to support recent community engagement work alongside the team at VC Gallery, led by our very own Wayne Scott. 👏

The work formed part of the Dig for Victory programme, funded by the Armed Forces Covenant, which encourages ex-military personnel and members of the local community to get involved in gardening, wellbeing, and outdoor activities. 🌿

From planting seeds and creating flower gardens to building bird boxes and benches, the project is helping to create a welcoming community space while promoting wellbeing, connection, and inclusion for all. 🌱

A great example of positive partnership working and meaningful social value being delivered within the local community. 💚

What a great night at the annual EKFB C23 award ceremony celebrating successes, with Walters collecting some key awards.🎉🏆

Walters were the proud recipients of the Subcontractor of the Year Award, which is a fantastic reflection on the whole of the team’s work.👏
“A key strategic partner to G2S throughout 2025, delivering significant earthworks operations and achieving exceptional results including 1.8 million m³ of material moved and placed in August alone. Through strong collaboration within the G2S IPT, the team successfully overcame major challenges and supported the delivery of two road diversions over the green tunnels.”👷

Our Section Foreman Marion Garnet received the Speak Up! Annual Award for his work. 🦺⭐
“Supporting site visits, giving safety briefings and talking through site operations, control measures and demonstrating a high level of knowledge and strong focus on safety and being a great advocate for the project.” 👏

With Dennis Cunningham, one of our ADT Plant Operators, receiving Highly Commended in the Championing Respect Award for all the work he undertakes on G2S.🤝

And also, great to see Greatworth to Southam collecting the Deliver Project of the Year award.🎊

As part of our ongoing commitment to working with local colleges, we recently visited Coleg y Cymoedd’s Nantgarw campus alongside Tony Gee and TACP.📚

The session provided a great opportunity to engage with students and share insights into careers across civil engineering, design, and environmental disciplines.👷📝🌱

Through interactive balance exercises and open discussions, we explored the variety of pathways available and what a future in the industry can look like.👍

It's great to see such enthusiasm from the students, and we’re proud to continue supporting our local communities.😊
