The "12 o'clock" rule. đź•›

Navigating an ROV requires a perfect sync between camera view and sonar data.

In this low-to-medium resolution scan, the ISS360 Imaging Sonar keeps the "dead ahead" position at 12 o'clock on the scan, making it incredibly easy for pilots to cross-reference their camera feed with the sonar imagery.

Simplicity in the UI leads to safety in the field.

A sensor testing setup doesn’t need to be a challenge.

Ever needed a quick check on a sensor, only to realise you need to pull together a cable, power supply, converter etc?

Getting a sensor tested efficiently shouldn't require a mountain of gear. That’s where our dedicated sensor test kit comes in.

What’s Inside?

• A topside Interface box with USB cable.
• A power supply complete with regional adapters.
• A rugged, 5 meter cable.
• This kit in particular includes a dedicated ethernet cable for our ethernet compatible sensors, such as our sonars and profilers.

How It Works

Simply connect the sensor and power to the topside Interface box, USB link the box to a computer and open seaView, our proprietary, free software.

From there you can run a comprehensive system or integration test right from your workshop bench.

This compact setup keeps your workshop clutter-free and your sensors deployment-ready.

High Volume Availability.

It’s always great to see larger volume orders moving through production, supporting a wide range of subsea vehicle operations globally.

Heading out this week is another high-volume order for ISA500 underwater Altimeters. Designed for compact installation and reliable underwater altitude measurement. Every Altimeter is manufactured and tested in-house before leaving our Aberdeen facility.

Thanks to our team for keeping production moving efficiently to support high-volume delivery requirements.

Zero visibility? No problem. 🌫️🚫

In this video, we’re operating in low-visibility water where the camera alone isn't enough.

The ISS360 Imaging Sonar steps in to provide a clear map of the environment, allowing the ROV to be positioned perfectly relative to the pool walls.

When visibility fades, the sonar takes over.

Distance doesn't have to mean a loss of detail.

We’re putting the ISS360 Imaging Sonar to the test with a long-range, 360-degree scan. From the pool walls to smaller items like rocks and even waves crashing in from the sea, nothing goes unnoticed.

Accurate long-range positioning is what turns a difficult mission into a successful one.

When we welcomed Ewan Ogilvie to our Aberdeen HQ back in January, we knew he would be a fantastic addition to the team. Fast forward a few months, and he is fully immersed in the Impact Subsea Launchpad Programme.

Far from a standard graduate scheme, the Launchpad Programme is designed to give team members a 360-degree view of the business through monthly departmental rotations, offering Ewan a unique, holistic understanding of our operations.

In fact, as our Graduate Sales Engineer, Ewan has already stepped up as a key presenter and primary point of contact at several international industry events, representing Impact Subsea on the global stage.

For many engineers, the commercial and sales side of a business can feel like uncharted territory. Reflecting on this, Ewan shares:

❝I’ve learned quickly and got stuck in, particularly on the Sales side of my role. This has pushed me outside my comfort zone, but it has also been an incredibly rewarding part of the experience so far.❞

Ewan has thrown himself into every aspect of our workflow. He started by gaining valuable insights into our supply chain, working with Stores and Logistics to ensure efficient component management and seamless international shipping.

From there, he joined the Production team as a technician, learning first-hand the high level of precision needed to build and calibrate our subsea sensors. Most recently, he spent time with the Development team, further expanding his technical skills by understanding sensor programming and PCB layouts.

Behind all this growth is a collaborative workplace culture. As Ewan notes:

âťťBeing surrounded by a supportive team is a huge bonus. The environment here makes it easy to ask questions and learn from the best in the industry.âťž

Phenomenal work so far, Ewan! We are incredibly proud to have you on the team and excited to see where the next phase of the Launchpad Programme takes you. 👏
