Supporting someone through stroke recovery can be emotional, exhausting, and overwhelming in ways people don’t always see.

Carers often carry worry, pressure, and responsibility quietly, while still trying to stay strong for someone they love.

But if you’re recovering from a stroke and rely on support from a carer, this is not your fault

Needing help does not make you a burden, and carers feeling overwhelmed does not take away from the love and care they have for you.

Both experiences can exist at the same time and both deserve understanding.

We’re pleased to be attending the Innovate Northern Ireland conference on the 20th may

Our CEO, Dominic, will be speaking about the importance of innovation in healthcare, and the real challenges that come with bringing new ideas into practice.

At eXRt, we continue to develop virtual reality rehabilitation for upper limb stroke recovery working closely with clinicians and patients to ensure it is practical, meaningful, and accessible in real-world care settings.

As healthcare continues to evolve alongside the NHS long-term direction towards more community based care, innovation has a key role to play in supporting both:
• People recovering from stroke
• The therapists delivering rehabilitation every day

We’re looking forward to being part of the conversation on how innovation can better support recovery, workload pressures, and patient outcomes.

Keeping your brain moving matters 🤍

After a stroke, staying mentally and physically engaged through rehabilitation, movement, and everyday activities can play an important role in recovery.

Small moments of activity, repetition, and focus can all help support the brain during the rehabilitation journey.

Sometimes the hardest part of stroke recovery isn’t what people can see.

It can be the loss of confidence.
The frustration with slow progress.
The emotional exhaustion.
Or adjusting to a version of life that feels different than before.

Recovery isn’t just physical and that side of stroke deserves more understanding too

Stroke recovery often continues long after leaving hospital.

Resynk was designed to help support upper limb rehabilitation beyond clinical settings through engaging virtual reality exercises created alongside healthcare professionals.

By combining rehabilitation, technology, and progress tracking, the goal is simple: helping make recovery more accessible, consistent, and engaging for patients

Stroke recovery can bring a lot of emotions that people don’t always see.

Hope.
Frustration.
Exhaustion.
Isolation.
Overwhelm.

Recovery isn’t just about physical healing, it’s also about adjusting emotionally to changes in everyday life.

And every feeling that comes with that is valid

Leaving hospital after a stroke can feel overwhelming for both survivors and carers.

While discharge is an important milestone, recovery often continues long after leaving hospital through rehabilitation, community support, and adjusting to everyday life again.

Every recovery journey looks different, and support at home can make a huge difference

Stroke recovery isn’t just physically exhausting, it can be mentally exhausting too.

The stress, frustration, overwhelm, and pressure behind recovery often go unseen.

Sometimes the most important thing we can do is acknowledge the parts people don’t always talk about
