Introducing Tom Clarke, chairman and owner of Kineteco.

Tom qualified as a chartered accountant and led a successful MBO at the end of the 1980s.

He has since invested in a wide range of small businesses, with Kineteco becoming his favourite.

He set up Kineteco in 1996 and became the sole shareholder in 2015.

He has a holiday home in the Alps and his favourite sport is ski touring.

Power Springs (also referred to as ‘clock’ springs) – are the latest design and only produced by Kineteco.

Power springs offer a high number of output revolutions. They are more compact being an advantage for smaller engines.

The Original Simms spring starter was invented by the company’s predecessors, in service since the 1950's.

Kineteco Spring starters can be operated by two different springs:

Disc Springs (also referred to as ‘Belleville Washers’) – conically shaped steel washers which are compressed by means of a ball screw.

Disc springs provide a high output torque and 3 turns of the pinion, which is sufficient to start a mechanical engine.

The spring starter is a direct bolt on replacement for an electric starter. Cranking the handle compresses the springs and the
trip lever releases the energy to turn the flywheel much faster than an electric starter.
