The work involved
▶ Removing the existing treads and risers
▶ Cutting out and removing the damp, rotten sections of the stair strings
▶ Making new replacement joinery stair string sections and reinstating them
▶ Creating a structural timber resin splice joint, reinforced with glass fibre epoxy rods and epoxy resin
▶ Reinstating the stair treads and risers to complete the repair

💧 BASEMENT WATERPROOFING SURVEY IN TORRINGTON

We recently surveyed a basement beneath a hillside property in Torrington, North Devon, where water ingress is preventing the space from being used.

The owner would like to transform the basement into a dry, habitable area, so we will be specifying a cavity drain membrane system in accordance with BS 8102:2022 – the British Standard for protecting below-ground structures against water ingress.
