Whilst the sun shone and we ran block to surface we hosted a reciprocal learning and familiarisation visit with the team from Portland Stone Firms. Thanks to their Mine Manager, Andrew Jackson and all the crew for making the long drive up.
Sharing safety and efficiency procedures supports all areas of business, long may it continue.

As we wrap up another year, everyone at Bath Stone Company would like to say a big thank you to our customers for your continued support and custom.

We’d like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Please note our Christmas opening hours:

Our last working day will be on Tuesday 23rd December, with last collections being at 12:00pm

We are then closed for the Christmas break and will reopen on Tuesday 6th January 2026.

Congratulations to Wojciech Peplinski one of our longest serving colleagues. Mine Official, Mines Rescue team member and face saw operative. He worked long and hard to achieve the Level 4 Diploma in Mine Supervision and also added Working Safely in the Underground Environment for good measure; all accredited by MPQC. Well done Wojciech and thanks to MAUK (The Mining Association UK), MRSL Training and Rescue, GS Safety Management (SW) Ltd, UK Mines Rescue Ltd and MPQC for all your help, guidance and input.

The Mine, Yard and Offices of The Bath Stone Group are closed on Tuesday 10th June 2025 to allow the entire workforce to join in on a “Busman’s Holiday” by visiting one of the Mines on The Isle of Portland. Sharing of good practice is a core principle within the mining community and by meeting with other operators we will all benefit to drive standards ever higher.

We will be back to work the following day and look forward to catching up then.
