I went to MACH 2026 so you didn’t have to. Hunting for channel partners for RoboVigil — our machine monitoring software — and talking to FANUC, KUKA, ABB and Siemens about connecting to their machines. MACH is the UK’s big machine tool trade show — robots, CNC machines, laser cutters, etc. A Kimla laser cutter cut me a Polish eagle.

Setting up, testing and monitoring robot cells is rarely simple - and lack of visibility due to guarding makes things far worse. Despite what you may see on TikTok MIG welding cells should have proper guards around them to prevent arc eye. And for lots of installations the guarding effectively blocks most of what you need to see to check the robot is running correctly. RoboVigil’s been live less than a month and we’re already getting really interesting enquiries. This one’s from a massive manufacturer who already runs full SCADA systems. All they want is their machines to let them know when something’s gone wrong. That’s one of RoboVigil’s core functions. Really gratifying to see that’s something that’s missing from even big established businesses’ machine control systems.
