Condensation season is here now.
Do you suffer from humid air?
Condensation on windows?
Mould growth?
A lot of jobs we go to can be avoided by correctly ventilating your home properly.
During this colder weather when we turn to drying clothes inside, whacking the heating up, boiling pans, taking hotter showers ,draught proofing doors, windows etc, all this creates the perfect environment to trap moisture in the home and create ideal conditions for mould to thrive.
I am a firm believer in ventilation, I've created a ritual in my own home, even if it's freezing outside, I throw the windows open for 10 minutes, not only does it keep the home cleaner, it brings in fresh air, and most importantly gets rid of all that stale moisture laden air.
In Germany they swear by this, it's called Stoßlüften
🌬️ Stoßlüften: The Simple Trick for Fresh, Healthy Air! 🌿
Did you know that a few minutes of proper ventilation can make a huge difference in your home’s air quality? “Stoßlüften” — or shock ventilation — is a quick, effective way to refresh indoor air, reduce humidity, and prevent mold growth.
✅ How to do it:
Open all your windows wide for 5–10 minutes (don’t just tilt them!).
Do this 2–3 times a day, especially after cooking, showering, or waking up.
In winter, it’s even more efficient — the cold air pushes out stale, humid air fast!
💡 Benefits:
Lowers CO₂ levels and improves concentration
Prevents condensation and mold
Saves energy compared to keeping windows tilted for hours
Keeps your home fresh and comfortable
