Magnus Construction Group Ltd is proud to announce the successful completion of the First Bus EV infrastructure project at the Bath depot, delivered in partnership with Siemens eMobility. ✅

From the initial concept development alongside the exceptional teams at First Bus, Janus Architecture, Vextrix, J B Langley and Envevo Ltd, through to final delivery by Team Magnus and our valued supply chain partners, this project has been a true collaborative success. 🤝

Over an intensive 28-week programme, the depot has been transformed into a state-of-the-art EV charging hub that will support the next generation of sustainable public transport across the region.

Key project highlights include:
⚡4 bespoke steel charging gantries
⚡32 overhead drop-down charging reels
⚡37 ground-mounted 240A chargers
⚡23 Siemens eMobility Flex 180 power cabinets
⚡4 Siemens SiCharge D 400kW All-in-One chargers
⚡77 charging points installed across the depot
⚡Charging capabilities of up to 400kW

The infrastructure has been designed with the future in mind, incorporating provisions for a future solar PV installation. This next phase will help generate renewable energy on-site, further reducing carbon emissions and moving the depot towards greater energy self-sufficiency. ☀️⚡

Magnus Construction Group Ltd are proud to announce that the Rotala Diamond Bus Midlands EV infrastructure works at the Burton-on-Trent depot — powered by our partners at Siemens eMobility — are now fully complete ✅

From the initial vision developed alongside the outstanding teams at Janus Architecture, Vextrix, J B Langley, Network Power Connections Ltd and Rotala, right through to delivery by the entire Magnus team and our supply chain partners 🤝

It has been incredible to be part of the transformation of the site in just 25 weeks.

As part of the works, we installed one of three innovatively designed and precision-engineered steel gantries, housing 9 state-of-the-art drop-down charging reels, alongside a further 6 ground-mounted chargers.

Powered by the Siemens eMobility Flex 180 range, this infrastructure will support the buses 🚌 transporting residents across the district in carbon-neutralising style 😎

A total of 15 new charging points have been delivered across the depot, providing access to a high-performance charging network with speeds of up to 180 kW.

Importantly, the gantry design has also been future-proofed to accommodate PV solar panels, which will be installed at a later date — helping to generate renewable energy on-site and taking another major step toward a more self-sustaining, low-carbon bus depot of the future ☀️⚡

This is achieved by not just our own extensive experience of these environments but also by the seamless planning and installation practices by the entire teams, then delivered by our own project & site managers to achieve just that.
