Progress continues at Park Place as the project moves forwards.

With the piling works now successfully completed, we have started work on the waterproofing and steel reinforcement elements.

This is a particularly logistically challenging project, requiring careful planning and coordination to manage the constraints of the site while maintaining progress safely and efficiently. It is therefore great to see these important milestones being achieved and the structure beginning to take shape.

Following previous successful projects, we’re returning to Coleg Gwent this summer to deliver three projects concurrently across the campus.

The programme of works includes new sensory room installations, PV works and wider summer refurbishment works, all carefully planned around the college calendar to minimise disruption ahead of the new academic year.

It’s great to continue building on our relationship with Coleg Gwent while supporting ongoing improvements to the learning environment and wider campus facilities.

We look forward to sharing progress with you over the summer months.

Modern slavery remains a very real issue within the construction industry and one that cannot be ignored.

As principal contractors, we all have a responsibility to look beyond compliance paperwork and ask the bigger questions around labour practices, supply chain transparency and worker welfare.

Our latest blog explores some of the warning signs businesses should be aware of and the importance of maintaining visibility across the supply chain.

In construction, our supply chains are the backbone of every project. At John Perkins Construction, we believe strong, sustainable relationships with our partners are key to delivering great work – and that means ensuring those relationships are ethical and transparent.... Read more

An exciting new chapter is underway at Park House, 20 Park Place, Cardiff, as works officially commence on site at this iconic Grade I listed building in the heart of the city.

We are proud to be delivering the refurbishment and extension of this landmark property, which will soon become the new home of chef Tom Simmons’ latest restaurant.

Working within heritage environments always demands care, collaboration and attention to detail, and we’re excited to be part of bringing this prestigious Cardiff destination to life alongside the wider project team.

It has mostly been demolition and piling works so far but we look forward to sharing progress as the project develops.

Working on live and sensitive sites is a huge part of what we do.

From schools and healthcare settings to public spaces and specialist environments, these projects require careful planning, strong communication and a real understanding of the people using the building around us.

Keeping projects moving safely while minimising disruption is something our teams work hard to achieve on every site.

It’s hard to believe that this time six years ago, we were in lockdown.

Sites paused, plans changed overnight, and like everyone else, we were figuring things out as we went.

Looking back now at projects like the Centre for Fine Print Research at UWE Bristol, it’s a reminder of just how important collaboration and adaptability really are.

Even on this scheme, working in a live university environment meant things didn’t stand still - requirements shifted, challenges came up, and we had to stay flexible throughout. It was the close working relationship between client, design team and supply chain that allowed us to adapt, pivot and keep things moving forward.

The end result is a space that supports innovation and creativity - but it’s the way we got there, and what we learned along the way, that really stands out.

We’re pleased to have completed the first phase of works at Milton Voyage for North Somerset Council, enhancing the school’s SEND provision - and it’s great to see students already using the upgraded spaces.

Works have included light reconfiguration, new flooring and decoration, upgraded electrics and fire alarm systems, new fire doors, a new teaching kitchen, and the refurbishment of classrooms and the sports hall, alongside replacement heating throughout. New toilet facilities have also been provided.

With phase one now complete, we’re looking ahead to progressing phase two, due for completion this summer!

Working on heritage buildings is something we genuinely care about. It’s about striking the right balance - respecting the history and character of a building while making sure it works for the future.

These projects come with their own challenges, from working with traditional materials to delivering in sensitive, often live environments. But that’s exactly what makes them so rewarding. They require a thoughtful approach, strong collaboration and a real appreciation for the details.

We’re also proud to be Heritage Approved Contractors with the National Federation of Builders, recognising our experience and commitment in this space.
