From inside the attic, these roof timbers looked absolutely fine. It wasn’t until we stripped the old roof covering off that the true condition of the rafters became clear.
Years of age and moisture had caused serious deterioration that simply couldn’t be seen from inside the property.
An old roof doesn’t always leak before it needs attention. Waiting until water starts coming through can mean rotten timbers, damaged insulation, ceilings and a much bigger repair bill.
