Current Progress – Cambridge Single & Double Storey Extension 🏗️

Another great milestone reached on one of our extension projects in Cambridge.

✅ Brickwork progressing well and tying seamlessly into the existing property
✅ Structural openings formed with steelwork installed
✅ Ground floor extension structure completed
✅ First floor walls underway with blockwork and cavity construction progressing steadily
✅ Scaffolding fully in place for safe access and continued works
✅ Internal spaces now clearly taking shape as the build moves into the next phase

This project combines both a single and double storey extension, creating substantial additional living space while maintaining a cohesive look with the original home.

The transformation is now becoming visible, and we're looking forward to pushing on with the next stages of the build.

On this project, we hit a little surprise: a shared soakaway for both the property and the neighbor. Not ideal, but no worries—we've got this. 💪

We've shifted the soakaway 5 meters away, right under the drive. We didn't just dig a hole; we built a fortress for it. Deep installation, soil fill, a concrete pad, and MOT Type 1 to ensure it's fully protected and can handle vehicles driving over it without a hitch. 🚜🏗️

**1️⃣ Materials Quality**
A kitchen extension isn't just "bricks and windows." 🧱

The £15k quote might be using budget fixtures, thin insulation, and windows that rattle every time a lorry goes past. The £40k? Thermally efficient glazing, premium insulation, and fittings that won't need replacing before your youngest starts secondary school. 🪟✨
