The brick and block structure is now complete, vaulted ceiling structure is in, and part of the pitched roof is done. Full shell build is almost there — meaning scaffolding comes down next and we shift focus inside the building. 🔧

Here's where we are:

✅ Pitched roof — well underway
✅ Full shell build — nearly there
🔜 Scaffolding down, interior works begin

Once the shell's sealed, that's when the real transformation starts. First fix, plastering, finishes — this is where the building starts becoming a home. 🏠

🚧 NEW PROJECT ALERT! 🏗️

We've just started an exciting new project in St Neots! 🔥

This one involves a bay window alteration and a non-load-bearing wall modification — part of a full ground floor refurbishment where we'll be fitting a brand new kitchen. 🍽️✨

We're only 2 days in and here's where we are:
✅ Bay window alteration underway
✅ Wall modification in progress
✅ Ceiling taken down for easy access
✅ All areas protected and secured
✅ Everything set out and planned ahead

Next step: getting the electrician and plumber in for their first fix! ⚡🔧

We protect every area we're not touching, inspect everything we are, and plan it all out before we start. That's how we do things at DNDH. 💪

Bricklaying was my first trade — and honestly, I still love it to this day 🧱

I've been laying bricks for many years now, and it's where my whole journey in construction started. There's something about it — the craft, the precision, seeing a wall come together block by block. It never gets old.

That passion is what led me to where I am today. It pushed me to start DNDH Construction and take things even further — focusing on quality, listening to what clients actually need, and delivering projects that genuinely make a difference.

🏗️ It's not just about building — it's about thinking ahead. 🧠

On this extension project, the ground floor is nearly complete with joists and floorboards installed. 🏠 But here's something most people miss:

We've hardcored and prepared the entire area around the perimeter for the future patio. 🏗️ Why? Because once this extension is finished, there'll be no access to the garden. 🚧

All the materials are already staged at the back. When the scaffolding comes down and windows and doors go in, the client won't need to spend another chunk of money getting heavy machinery back through a completed home. 💰✅

Current Progress – Cambridge Single & Double Storey Extension 🏗️

Another great milestone reached on one of our extension projects in Cambridge.

✅ Brickwork progressing well and tying seamlessly into the existing property
✅ Structural openings formed with steelwork installed
✅ Ground floor extension structure completed
✅ First floor walls underway with blockwork and cavity construction progressing steadily
✅ Scaffolding fully in place for safe access and continued works
✅ Internal spaces now clearly taking shape as the build moves into the next phase

This project combines both a single and double storey extension, creating substantial additional living space while maintaining a cohesive look with the original home.

The transformation is now becoming visible, and we're looking forward to pushing on with the next stages of the build.
