A great afternoon at our Coventry Technology Centre today, as the team came together for a summer barbecue.

With the barbecue taking place alongside our sales team meeting, we had colleagues from across the business joining in, including sales, service, applications, engineering, finance, and many more.

There was plenty of good food, from steak and sausages to sandwiches, plus wonderful wine from Albert’s-Deli and Hillocks Wines.

Thank you to everyone who helped make it such an enjoyable afternoon. It was lovely to spend time together as one NCMT team.

Great to see the two Okuma GENOS M460V-5AX machines ordered by Turbotech Precision Components now installed at Erlson Precision Components.

From order to delivery and installation, it is always rewarding to see new machine tool investment taking shape at a customer site.

We have shared a new video case study with Delta XD.

In the video, the team at Delta XD explain how the Makino U6 H.E.A.T. Wire EDM is helping them approach metrology and inspection in a different way.

By bringing precision sectioning in-house, Delta XD can cut complex components with greater control, minimise material loss and reduce the amount of digital reconstruction needed after cutting.

Delta XD needed a way to section complex components with exceptional precision, while keeping material loss to a minimum and preserving the integrity of the data used for inspection.

Working with NCMT, they introduced the Makino U6 H.E.A.T. Wire EDM to support highly accurate sectioning for metrology and quality control applications.

The result is a more controlled, efficient and capable process, helping Delta XD bring an important part of its workflow in-house.

It is a great example of how the right machine, the right application support and a clear technical requirement can come together to solve a very specific manufacturing challenge.

There is always a good feeling when a new machine arrives in the showroom.

This week, our Coventry Technology Centre is welcoming a new Makino G5, which is now being installed and prepared for customer visits, demonstrations and technical discussions.

After MACH, the showroom felt a little emptier than usual, although that was for a very good reason. The machines from our stand have now moved on to customers, following a successful show for NCMT.

The G5 brings together grinding and machining capability in one 5-axis platform, making it well suited to complex component production where accuracy, surface finish and process control are critical.

It is also being installed ready for our Engineered for Power event in September, which will focus on precision grinding and advanced manufacturing for turbine blades, vanes and high-value engine components.

A new Makino G5i 5-axis VIPER grinder has now arrived at Zenix Aerospace Weston.

After successfully completing the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) at our Coventry headquarters, the machine is now entering the installation and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) phase at the customer facility.

Zenix already have seven Makino G5i machines operating in their Thailand facility, all of which were FAT tested by NCMT in Coventry, so it is fantastic to see another machine joining the group, this time here in the UK.

Projects like this are always a great example of long-term collaboration, technical support and shared confidence in the technology.
