Greetings from Japan! 🇯🇵

Our NCMT delegation is spending this week at JIMTOF 2026, catching up with colleagues and partners from across the world.

One of today's highlights was a visit to the Makino stand, where we joined representatives from EA-SUN in Taiwan and Min-Chun to mark the signing of a new contract, with delivery planned for the second quarter of 2027.

It was wonderful to see Miyazaki-san and our international colleagues celebrating the occasion together.

Events such as JIMTOF are always a great reminder of the strong relationships and shared expertise that connect us across the global manufacturing industry.

A new machine is on its way. But what needs to happen before it arrives?

There is quite a bit of preparation involved in welcoming a new machine tool into a factory, and our service team has an important role to play in making sure everything is ready.

It is not simply a case of delivering the machine and switching it on. Planning, communication and understanding the customer's requirements are all part of the process.

We have been speaking to members of our team about what goes on behind the scenes before a new machine arrives at a customer's premises.

One of the machines we are preparing for our anniversary event has a story of its own. The Okuma LR15-M takes us back to an earlier era of machining, and we think it will prompt some fascinating conversations with engineers who remember machines like it.

Last night, four members of our Engineering Team took to the padle court for some friendly competition.

Andy and Gary claimed the victory, although the other two are still disputing the result... 😄

We think a rematch might be needed to settle this one!

170 years of engineering excellence!

A fantastic milestone for our customer, JJ Hardy & Sons in Hartlepool, who celebrated their 170th anniversary with a special open house last Friday!

Our Area Sales Manager, Andy Skee, joined the celebrations, which brought together guests including local MP Jonathan Brash.

Founded in 1856, JJ Hardy & Sons has seen generations of engineering development, from traditional brass founding and machining to modern CNC manufacturing. Today, their workshop includes an Okuma GENOS L3000 CNC lathe.

It is wonderful to see a family business with such a rich history continuing to invest in its future.

A big congratulations to company owner Andrew Pailor and the entire team. Thank you for having us!
