Alitech chooses new TMS vending from M.A. Ford
The continued drive for performance, precision and on-demand tooling access has prompted specialist motorsport component manufacturer, Alitech Precision, to install a TMS-X automated tool vending solution from M.A. Ford at its premises in Silverstone.

The new TMS-X unit supports Alitech’s use of M.A. Ford tooling for machining high performance materials including aluminium alloys, titanium and high carbon steels, which are held in the machine’s 130 coil and side pocket stock locations.

M.A. Ford’s integrated web based stock control and inventory system monitors tool use, location and reordering, while also managing tool scrap and regrind requirements, which is all fully automated and linked to the TMS-X.

A different type of high performance tool!
High performance and long life are two attributes normally associated with our tooling, but we took them in a different direction last weekend with the sponsorship of a Citroen C1 in the BRSCC 24-hour race at Silverstone.

Co-driven by Nigel Rata, CEO of M.A. Ford customer, Cambridge Precision Ltd, the C1 endurance challenge is one of the UK’s largest race series. Well done to Nigel. his two co-drivers, and their support team, from everyone at M.A. Ford.

Investment at Mercian Tools
Since Mercian Cutting Tools, became part of M.A. Ford Europe in January, further investment in manufacturing systems, site improvements, and the appointment of three new apprentices, have been key aspects of the rapid development at the Tamworth based business.
