We don’t often shout too much about the multi-trade side of Reid Contracts, but it’s an area that continues to grow steadily alongside our core grounds maintenance services.
Recently, we’ve had a good mix of additional works passed our way across several sites.
⚡ D***s of Gray, Dundee – Following a vehicle impact which damaged an electrical feeder pillar, we were asked to supply and install a replacement with improved access.
The works involved both our electrical and civils trades, safely disconnecting the power and removing the incoming and outgoing cables, excavating around the existing unit and installing a new hinged feeder pillar securely into the ground. All electrics were then reinstated, tested and certified on completion.
A good example of different trades working together to get an unexpected site issue dealt with quickly and safely.
🔌 Encon Insulation, Dundee – On the same day, our electrical team attended another job to install an additional double socket within an office area, with the installation tested and certified on completion.
🛝 Bertha Park, Perth – We’ve also recently attended to repair several items damaged due to vandalism. These initial repairs have now been completed, with further repairs to play equipment planned shortly.
Our Facilities Management division continues to tick over nicely. Grounds maintenance will always be a major part of what we do, but we’re continuing to build a steady workload across a much wider range of services.
From groundworks and waste management to electrical, joinery, playground repairs and general property maintenance, having trusted teams and trades available means our clients can pass more of their requirements directly to us.
Whether it’s planned maintenance, additional works or unexpected repairs that need dealt with quickly, we’re continuing to build Reid Contracts into a company our clients can rely on for much more than just grounds maintenance.

A new dedicated addition to the Reid Contracts fleet! ♻️

Our newly branded 100% electric Waste Management vehicle is now out on the road, supporting a service we already deliver across a growing number of sites throughout Scotland.

Waste management and site cleansing might seem like a simple job from the outside, but it plays a massive part in the overall presentation of any premises.

First impressions matter.

Whether it’s a retail park, supermarket, industrial site, private housing estate, play park or commercial premises, litter, overflowing bins and untidy external areas can quickly change how customers, visitors and residents perceive a site.

Our teams provide a 365-day-a-year service, carrying out essential works including:
• Litter picking & general site cleansing
• Bin emptying & maintenance
• Bin supply, replacement & minor repairs
• Kerb edge and car park sweeping
• Removal of accumulated debris
• Regular site inspections
• General upkeep of external areas

Every contract is different. Some sites require daily attendance, while others need weekly or scheduled visits. We tailor the service and frequency around exactly what the client and site require.
We currently carry out these services on a significant scale, both on behalf of larger nationwide facilities management contractors and directly for our own clients.

Reporting is also a big part of what we offer.
Where required, our teams provide detailed visit reports including before and after photographs, giving clients and contract managers clear evidence of works completed and visibility across their sites - even when they're managing locations hundreds of miles away.

The goal is simple: clean, tidy and well-presented sites, 365 days a year.
And with another fully electric vehicle joining our fleet, we're continuing to look at ways of making our regular scheduled services more efficient and environmentally responsible.

👷‍♂️🌿 Busy season? You could certainly say that!

Firstly, we can only apologise for the lack of content on our page recently. It certainly hasn't been due to a lack of work! The past few months have been incredibly busy as we continue to look after our growing portfolio of commercial grounds maintenance and facilities management contracts across Scotland.

We're also delighted to have retained 100% of our existing grounds maintenance clients from last season – something we're extremely proud of and a reflection of the service, reliability and communication our team strives to deliver on every visit.

One of our newest sites this year is Ninewells Village, located behind Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

When we first attended, the site had unfortunately been left in a poor state after the previous contractor failed to carry out the required maintenance, with some grass areas reaching knee height. Since taking over, our team has worked hard to bring the site back under control and we're already seeing a big improvement.

As well as the ongoing grounds maintenance, we've recently planted up several areas around the entrance signage to create a more welcoming and visually appealing environment for residents. There's still more to do, but the site is definitely heading in the right direction and we're looking forward to continuing the improvements over the coming months.

Dundee United’s season has certainly had its ups and downs after the highs of last year’s European qualification and 4th place finish. A huge squad rebuild always made consistency difficult, but there were still some brilliant moments along the way - especially the strong finish at Tannadice, including 4 straight home wins, a derby victory and beating Celtic twice. Reid Contracts were also proud match ball sponsors for the huge European night against Rapid Vienna ⚽️
Dundee also had a difficult season at times but showed plenty character throughout, producing some strong performances against the Old Firm and securing two derby wins at Tannadice along the way. Their 3-0 win over Livingston at the weekend secured their Premiership safety for another season - a huge result for the club and supporters 🔵
