Join a thriving transport operation in Northampton as a Transport Clerk. Working a stable Sunday-to-Thursday night shift, you will be the backbone of their traffic office.

Main duties, but not limited to:

· Ensure accurate and effective management of traffic administration office duties in accordance with legislation and operational work instructions

Candidate requirements:

· Transport Experience: Proven experience working in a fast-paced transport office environment.
· Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the confidence to manage drivers on-site and speak with clients politely and professionally.
· Tech Savvy: Good Microsoft Office skills (experience with Transport Management Systems is a major plus).
· Organisational Skills: The ability to multitask, work under pressure, and use your own initiative.

Shift and Pay:

Shift runs Sunday to Thursday night. Sunday night hours are 22:00pm to 06:30am.

Monday - Thursday hours are 20:00pm to 04:30am.
Prepared to be flexible to work bank holidays.

Pay rates:

£17.09 Between hours of 8pm – 6am
£13.79 Between hours of 6am – 8pm
£17.35 overtime (applicable after 40 basic hours worked)

This is a varied, hands-on position combining forklift operation with general warehouse and production support. The successful candidate will ideally be available to start immediately.

Job description and purpose:

･ To arrange most cost effective and time sensitive transport of products from the client to various destinations
･ To ensure and supervise all deliveries inclusive of mailing collections.
･ To prioritise, supervise FLT operatives & collection drivers to ensure correct and safe means of loading.

Key Duties:

･ A full system knowledge of the range of services provided by the client (Shuttleworth, LHT, Destiny Couriers, Equator)
･ To gain a full working knowledge of the Warehouse/Goods In/Transport and the way it operates
･ To manage the daily operations of the outer yard, including all goods-in and goods-out operations, all deliveries and collections by Postage and Pallet Delivery suppliers
and providers.
･ Provide concise costing of transport.
･ Scan delivery notes into Shuttleworth, produce GRN’s & run Goods In bin report on frequent intervals
･ Update Shuttleworth with stock delivered to the client following Goods into stock process
･ Provide/Record accurate transport cost reports when requested.
･ File all related paperwork in respect of the above
･ Cross training on critical operation daily funtctions to be provided to suit daily business demands
･ Control TASS stock movements and any required tasks associated with, involving business trips to TASS (every 2 months)
･ To help be responsible for the safekeeping of warehouse/goods in vehicles and property.

･ To help be responsible for the completion and prompt submission of all related paperwork and the provision of other information as requested.
･ To develop productive working relationships with colleagues.
･ To be able to deal effectively and efficiently with queries and correspondence.

･ To ensure that all quality procedures are carried out and adhered to.

Requirements:

･ At least 2 years’ experience in similar role
･ Counterbalance Forklift driving experience is advantageous but not essential (training and in-house certificate can be provided after probation period)
･ Good verbal and written communication skills, methodical with attention to detail.

･ Able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
･ Competent across Microsoft Office suite
･ Generate solutions to meet the customer requirements.

Hours and salary:

We are seeking candidates with a desire to progress in their duties, you must have previous experience working in a warehouse / food environment, experience of food preparation will be advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided to you.
