A returning client once again chose TPM to deliver a challenging specialist installation — this time, fire-rated drainage through a busy factory environment.

The drainage system was installed in extremely close proximity to a glass kiln, requiring a specific fire-rated specification and meticulous attention to detail.

Our TPM engineers completed the works in just 4 days, working at pace while maintaining precision and the highest standards throughout.

With extreme noise and temperatures creating a particularly challenging working environment, the team remained focused and professional from start to finish.

Another project delivered safely, efficiently and to specification — and successfully handed back to the client.

Two recent Ground Source Heat Pump projects, delivered by TPM. 🌱♨️

We’re pleased to showcase two recent GSHP installations featuring the brand-new R290 STIEBEL ELTRON 12.1kW heat pumps, installed in cascade to provide efficient and reliable renewable heating.

Both projects presented a number of technical challenges across the brine and hydraulic systems, but these were successfully overcome by our expert Installation Engineer, James, ensuring both systems were delivered to the required specification and performance.

The systems were expertly designed by our MCS Lead Designer, Rachael, and brought to life by our highly skilled Mechanical & Electrical Team.

🚨 SCHOOL CLOSED. 15,000 LITRES OF COLD WATER IS HEATING UP. NO UK TECHNICAL SUPPORT. NO MANUALS. 🚨

Just another day for the TPM team… 😅

A couple of weeks ago, we walked into a secondary school with a fair bit of pressure on our shoulders.

☀️ It was one of the hottest days of the year, and a critical chiller had failed.

This wasn’t just any chiller. Its job was to cool the school’s 15,000-litre cold-water storage tank — and with the stored water temperature continuing to rise, the school had been forced to close.

And that was only Issue No. 1…

❌ Issue 1: The school was closed and the water temperature was rising.

🇪🇸 Issue 2: The unit was Spanish, with no UK technical helpline.

📚 Issue 3: No manufacturer’s instructions on site — and nothing useful available online.

So, where do you start?

At the bottom… and work your way up. 🔧

After around two hours of tracing wiring, following refrigerant circuits and carrying out test after test, we finally identified the fault:

👉 A failed high-pressure sensor.

No local manufacturer support.
No manual.
No easy part number to work from.

But experience counts.

After digging through our stores, we identified that the sensor matched one used by another manufacturer whose refrigeration equipment we regularly repair.

Same sensor. Same specification. Problem solved. ✅

The sensor was replaced, the chiller was brought back online, and the system returned to full operation — ready for the school to reopen the following morning. 🏫❄️

🦸 Heroes to the powers above…

😒 Needless to say, the secondary school pupils who’d just lost an unexpected day off didn’t quite see us in the same light. 😂

Project: Stölzle Flaconnage

From one commercial site to another!

TPM has been appointed to deliver the mechanical services installation at Stölzle Flaconnage, a large-scale glass manufacturing facility operating on an impressive industrial scale.

Our scope of works includes:

* Mechanical ventilation and heat recovery systems
* Domestic water services
* Plant room installation, including an electric boiler and 1,000L unvented hot water cylinder
* Above-ground drainage
* Shower facilities and sanitaryware installation
* Electric panel heating systems

Now three weeks into the programme, Site Manager Jack and the TPM team have been working diligently to deliver the project within a demanding timeframe and a highly challenging operating environment.

With just one week remaining, we are approaching completion and preparing for handover. Take a look at the progress made so far.

At TPM, we’re fortunate to have a fantastic office team working tirelessly across installation support, service, design, project management, and many other essential areas of the business. It’s a fast-paced environment, and no two days are ever the same!

One of our team members, Rachael, recently took the initiative to organise and deliver a Careers Day at a primary school in Doncaster where TPM currently holds a maintenance contract.

Rachael is a familiar face within the heating industry, having previously worked for some leading plumbing and heating merchants. After taking a short break from the sector, she joined TPM in February to support the day-to-day running of the office. It quickly became clear, however, that Rachael was eager to take on new challenges and develop her role further.

Today, Rachael leads our MCS design work for both air source and ground source heat pump projects. Alongside this, she has been working on an exciting new initiative behind the scenes that we’re looking forward to sharing with you very soon.

A huge well done to Rachael for giving 100% to both the Careers Day, and the ongoing demands of her design role. Your dedication, enthusiasm, and hard work do not go unnoticed. 👏

Emergency Gas Leak Response

TPM was called to assist at a local school following the discovery of a leak on a 4-inch screwed lever valve. The site was being managed by another local gas engineer who required specialist support to modify the large-diameter steel gas pipework.

Given the complexity of the project and the fact that the work had to be carried out during term time within an active school playground, careful planning and risk management were essential. TPM responded promptly and efficiently, ensuring the highest standards of safety and professionalism throughout.

Our team conducted a full commercial gas purge, removed the defective section of pipework, and transported it to our workshop for fabrication. Once the new section was completed, we returned to site to carry out the final welding works, followed by comprehensive testing, recommissioning, and the successful restoration of three separate plant rooms.

TPM specialises in commercial and industrial gas engineering, delivering expert solutions across all aspects of gas infrastructure, heating systems, and renewable energy technologies.

Project: Howarth Timber

TPM were proud to successfully deliver the full mechanical package for a flagship Howarth Timber store. Our scope of works included:

* MVHR systems to the ground and first floors
* Air conditioning installations to the showroom and shop floor
* Comms room cooling systems
* Electric panel heating
* Domestic hot and cold water services
* Boosted cold mains systems
* Above-ground drainage installations

The project was delivered on schedule and to an exceptional standard of quality, led from day one by our Site Manager, Jack, whose commitment and leadership ensured a successful outcome throughout the programme.

Jack now moves on to oversee our next major mechanical installation project at a glass manufacturing facility, delivering an 8-week programme ahead of commencing a new school project in July. Outstanding work, mate.
