Our new Breton EASYwire diamond wire saws are now up and running at our production facility in Gloucestershire.

This new machinery allows us to cut stone with millimetre accuracy, while supporting the traditional stonemasonry skills and experience of our team.

For our clients, this means shorter lead times, more flexibility and greater capacity to deliver larger and more ambitious stonework projects.

We welcome visits to our facility, where our team can show you how the machinery works alongside our wider production process.

To arrange a visit and discuss your next project, our team would be glad to hear from you https://bit.ly/3OF7l7b

We have recently upgraded our yard at our Gloucester facility and wanted to share a little glimpse behind the scenes.

We know that for architects, developers and project managers, seeing how a stonework partner operates builds real confidence in the people, processes and care behind the finished result. That’s why we welcome visits to our facility; it is always good to meet people face-to-face and show them what happens behind the scenes.

To book a visit and discuss your next project, our team would be glad to hear from you. https://bit.ly/4bIs7O0

Setting the standard matters 🪨

We’re proud to have achieved SMAS certification, a nationally recognised health and safety accreditation that confirms our commitment to safe, responsible working practices.

Across the construction industry, accreditations like SMAS help set clear expectations and give confidence that the right systems are in place from the very start of a project.

For our clients and partners, it’s another layer of reassurance that health and safety is carefully managed across everything we do, every day.

Not every project is large-scale, but every detail still matters.

Our smaller stone works cover both commercial and residential settings, from bespoke fireplaces and internal features through to external stonework and detailed finishing.

The same care goes into every element, whether we’re advising on stone selection, developing a design solution or managing the practical details of production and delivery.

We also welcome clients to our production facility, giving them the opportunity to see the process first-hand and understand how each piece is made.

Whether it’s part of a wider development or a one-off stone feature, every project is handled with the same focus on quality, detail and finish.

Why choose natural stone?

When choosing materials for a project, it helps to look beyond the final result and think about how they hold up over 10, 20 or even 100 years.

Natural stone has been used in construction for centuries, and for good reason. It needs far less processing than many modern alternatives and is known for its strength, range of options, durability and long lifespan.

Rather than needing to be replaced or refreshed every few decades, stone is designed to last for generations. You only have to look at historic buildings still standing today to see how well it lasts over time.

That long lifecycle makes it a reliable choice for projects where quality and longevity matter, helping reduce the need for future replacement and ongoing material use.

It’s a material that continues to prove its value, year after year.

Over the past few months, members of our team have been out in Europe, visiting quarry sites including Moleanos in Portugal, and Massangis and Ampilly in France.

Spending time at source gives us a clearer understanding of the stone we work with every day, from availability and selection through to the finer details that influence where and how materials are used across different types of projects. It also helps us maintain strong working relationships with our quarry partners.

More recently, the team attended Breton Open Days in Italy, keeping up to date with developments across the wider stone and machinery industry.

From quarry visits to machinery innovation, every trip gives us insight that comes back into the work we do with clients, helping make sure every project starts with the right material choice in mind.

Great stonework starts with great design 🧑‍💻

Our talented design and technical team work closely with clients from the earliest stages of a project, offering tailored guidance that helps shape how stone is detailed and delivered.

Whether it’s a large commercial project, a residential one or something more specialist, we’re always happy to get involved early and support the process.

One of the key areas we focus on is stone selection. As a natural material, every stone needs to be used differently, so getting the specification right is an important factor.

We also support general design development, helping to review ideas around durability and how the stone is used on site. From there, we move into detailed component design, where each stone is drawn and prepared with manufacturing in mind, drawing on real workshop experience to make sure everything is workable in practice as well as on paper.

And if a project requires support with 3D modelling and scanning for a more detailed visual or technical understanding of stone elements, we’re able to support in this area too.

With in-house production and close links to quarries in the UK and overseas, we’re able to keep a close eye on quality throughout, and make it easier for clients to stay involved in the process too: https://bit.ly/3OF7l7b

From block to build, everything we produce at Meister is driven by our masons’ skill and state-of-the-art machinery - a winning combination.

Across our workshop, a range of machinery, just like this CNC machine, helps transform stone into detailed components, following precise designs and handling the heavy shaping work with speed and accuracy. From initial cutting through to refined shaping, these processes lay the groundwork for what comes next.

From there, our skilled stonemasons step in to bring each piece to its final stage, adding the detail and finish our clients expect across every project.

Modern machinery and hands-on expertise are two forces that work together to deliver everything from large-scale building elements to more intricate, bespoke work.
