Another space filler completed

Last of the most recent works completed. Customer required replacement bell cast beading as the old galvanised had rusted out. Replaced with new stainless steel bell cast, scratch and top coat. Float and sponged to match the existing ready for him to paint soon as it dries out.

Asked for an emergency small job by a customer as South West Water refused to dig to source the issue.
So to dig to find the mains water pipe so it can be sorted awkwardly in under a cupboard with limited movement space with just a bucket trowel after breaking through the top layer of tiles and concrete. 1m deep the pipe was found and giving plenty working room around the pipe. Once completed, protected the pipe with a pea gravel followed by backfilling with the excavated rubble/soil, compacted as filled, finished with a dry screed.

Again another small job completed, even if it is laying on your stomach with just a trowel to dig a 400x200mm 1m deep hole. πŸͺ

No Job to small

Whilst the weather has been better recently, a friend of mine wanted his patio re-pointed. Found a few hours spare on a Friday afternoon to grind and rake out remaining joints, re-bed a handful of loose slabs and repoint with tradition sand/cement mix.

Pt.2

As we move on the the latter stages of the project you can see the delicate yet quirky taste of our customers and we love it. From the tiling arrangement and style, the free standing bath, the radiator and towel rail choices and colours. The front door has to be one of our coolest we’ve fitted. Also the array of various lighting styles and zinc cladding finishing of the dorma and front panel.

A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into this project from us and the customers themselves who were always willing to help where they could.

More work booked in here to start in the next coming weeks. Keep your eyes peeled

Full Bungalow Refurb, new dorma addition. Additional porch extension.

These wonderful customers requirements were to transition this into a nice big space more open planned that just flows better. Too many corridors, hallways, unwanted toilet next to the kitchen. A complete layout change to say the least. Upstairs was a semi converted loft space to which was all gutted, new ceiling heights to spec to allow for stair access with a huge bedroom with en-suite with the most perfect views of the sea and Lundy Island.

So much to see and label, so here are a few things from the list.

: New Layout
: Full re-wire
: Full plumbing.
: New bathroom and 2x en-suites
: Zinc clad finish and single ply membrane dormaοΏΌ
: οΏΌAll new black woodgrain doors and window replacements and additions
: Full Underfloor heating

Wrap around extension

Originally was a single skin extension that had a damp dog room, toilet and use of a kitchen. Was destructed and extended wrapping around to the back of the beautiful thatched roof cottage whilst rebuilding the existing corner with cob blocks and finished with lime render.

This created a new much larger kitchen/diner, utility, dog room, bathroom and another bedroom for guests.

: Steel Structures to take the roof and to allow for new lead lined gutter to take surface water from the thatch.
: New drainage
: Hardwood windows and stable doors to be in keeping with the surrounds as part of planning.
: Precast concrete sills
: New lime render on the original external walls which are now internal.
: Load bearing stud walls built to plan.
: Non-ridged hip roof
: Widen their parking in front entrance
: All complying with building regs

Well, what a beaut of a job this was to be involved in. We travelled to Wiltshire for this one. The customers provided us with Airbnb to stay over during this job. Full new timbers for a re-roof reusing as many of the existing Welsh slates and an inclusion of more reclaimed Welsh slate. All new joists and wall plates, 3x new Velux windows. Building up brickwork to raise to new roof height. Brick up bathroom window, block internally to allow for new bathroom layout. Reclaim ridge tiles. We was fighting the elements for sure but powering through we are extremely proud of of this one. Thanks to the customers for putting us up. A great project that they are continuing themselves. Can’t wait to see how this turns out.

Bathroom renovation

With an existing small bathroom, the customers required to take out an existing staircase from the annexe to extend into a wet room, with cute niches. A rearrangement in the hallway to move a bedroom door over to allow for two new cupboards for extra storage. Underfloor heating, big rain water shower. I think looks beautiful new look.
