We’re proud to share that the Phillips 66 Humber Refinery mentoring programme, designed with and delivered alongside the Engineering UTC Northern Lincolnshire, has won Education Project of the Year at the Humber Renewables Awards 🙌

Now in its second year, the programme supports Year 10 students at the UTC and now also Oasis Academy Immingham, with our Humber Refinery volunteers providing one‑to‑one mentoring to build confidence, resilience and future skills.

The impact is real — students have improved their exam results compared to mocks and increased their attendance over the year.
Huge congratulations and thanks to our amazing volunteers 💙 A fantastic way to round off Phillips 66 Good Energy Month!

💙 Supporting people when they need it most 💙

We’re proud to share a £12,000 donation to three incredible local organisations providing vital support to women, children and families across North East Lincolnshire and Hull.

What makes this especially powerful is that the money was raised by our employees, through the Dinner Dance raffles, a brilliant example of the generosity, compassion and good energy our people bring to the communities where we live and work.

🔹 £6,000 – Compass GO. NEL Mental Health Support Team
Compass delivers 1‑to‑1 mental health support for children and young people, working in every school across North East Lincolnshire, alongside parents and family hubs. Funding will support essential staff kits, resources such as games and stationery, and help deliver summer activities at a time when many families are facing increased financial pressure.

🔹 £6000 to Women's Aid Aid

Women's Aid - North East Lincolnshire
Supporting women and families at a moment of crisis. The refuge provides a place of safety, comfort and quiet, supporting up to 12 families at any one time. This funding will help provide emergency essentials such as new pyjamas, underwear and basic toiletries – small items that make a huge difference during an incredibly difficult time.

Hull Women's Aid
Alongside refuge accommodation, Hull Women’s Refuge also delivers floating community support and hospital‑based support. This donation will help fund emergency packs, food, toiletries and essential clothing, ensuring women and families have immediate help when they need it most.

Paul Fursey, VP, UK Lead Executive, Humber Refinery said “Thank you to the Dinner Dance teams for organising the events and helping to raise such an incredible amount. I’m incredibly proud of our Humber team. Their fundraising and volunteering, on top of our £100k annual refinery donation from the Humber Heart team, shows the real impact we’re making together.”

Recently, our team had an exciting day at CATCH, where Paul Fursey, our VP & UK Lead Executive at Phillips 66 Limited, and Dom Goose, Managing Director of Operations at the Humber Refinery, embraced the challenge of learning to weld. Guided by our talented apprentices, they stepped into unfamiliar shoes and tackled the art of welding with enthusiasm!

Special shoutout to Harrison Jenkins, one of our fantastic apprentices, who played a key role in directing the team. 🙌

Dom remarked, “It was an eye-opening experience to witness firsthand the impressive skills of our Apprentices & Technicians. Apprentices are the backbone of our industry, and at Phillips 66, we are proud to champion their growth with nearly 40 apprentices in our Humber Refinery programme. A huge thank you to all our Apprentices, Mentors, and training staff for their dedication and hard work!”

At Phillips 66, we’re committed to fostering talent and supporting the next generation of industry leaders. 🌟

Happy Love Immingham Day! ❤️

The Humber Refinery is proud to support our local community by sponsoring STEM focused Lego building masterclasses at the Immingham Civic Centre for today’s Love Immingham Event!

These sessions encourage problem‑solving, collaboration, and creative thinking—skills essential for future innovators of all ages. Participants also had the unique opportunity to build a Lego tree inspired by Mayflower Woods, our nearby community woodland with approximately 70,000 trees! 🌳

Thank you to all who helped make this day a success!

Introducing you to two of our fantastic Instrumentation Apprentices at the Humber Refinery, Caitlin and Harry!

Throughout their apprenticeship, they have developed strong fault-finding skills, gained increased confidence, and embraced a learn-as-you-work approach.

Caitlin said “I’ve significantly developed my confidence, making it easier to communicate with strangers and speak in front of groups. This growth is possible because, in addition to learning job-specific skills, the apprenticeship programme also teaches valuable life skills essential for effective communication within the industry.”

In celebration of Apprenticeship Week, we would love to introduce you to Caleb, one of our fantastic Welding Apprentices.

“I chose an apprenticeship because I have a strong preference for learning practical, hands-on skills and I believe that this approach will make me a well-rounded tradesperson.”

“I have the opportunity to learn from experienced tradespeople, earn a salary while learning, and witness the immediate results of my efforts every day. If I could describe my job in a few words, I would say gritty, loud, and weirdly satisfying.”

🌟We were excited to welcome a broad range of charities to the Humber Refinery last week to present them with cheques to support their amazing causes 🌟

This included our ‘12 Days of Christmas Campaign, ‘where we donated £1,000 each to 12 deserving charities, supporting vital causes such as healthcare and food support.

We Are One, one of the charities that benefited from the donations, said, “On average, we support around 1,000 people a week, and this donation will make a massive difference. Without community support we wouldn’t have this service which provides a vital lifeline to many.”

In addition, we funded 809 meals for the Scunthorpe Food Bank, provided 365 hampers for local schools, did a surprise cheque drop-off, and delivered over 1,000 toys that had been kindly donated by our employees during the festive period.

Alongside this, we also presented Men In Sheds with a cheque from our Movember campaign.

This support totaled over £28,000! Dom Goose, our Operations Manager, shares, “We are proud to support our local community in meaningful ways. These initiatives reflect our commitment to helping those in need and underscores the positive impact we strive to have through our community efforts.”
