Manchester College's new brickwork workshop has its heating sorted! 🧱🔥

The Wythenshawe campus is getting a purpose-built brickwork workshop, and our Thermatile TEN-TWELVE radiant panels will keep it warm.

20 runs of free-hanging panels, designed to work with the building's air source heat pump at low water temperatures 🌱

Radiant heating meets heat network expertise 🔥

New life, new heating for a multi-use space? 🔥

Our Southwest ASM, Chris Ward, carried out a fan convector survey at a Grade II listed chapel in South Wales.

Built in 1841, the chapel had fallen into disrepair over recent years. It's now the subject of a major restoration project, backed by significant heritage funding, that will turn it into a community hub with a café, youth activities and support services alongside its continued use as a place of worship.

It's a striking building: multi-level, with balcony seating and a beautiful organ taking pride of place at the front. All of which brings genuine challenges when it comes to heating design.

🔹 Multi-level layout means comfort has to be considered across different zones, not just floor level
🔹 Balcony seating adds extra height and airflow to account for
🔹 A large organ at the front means careful positioning to protect the instrument as well as the congregation

Sites like this are exactly why a detailed survey matters before specification, especially where a heritage building is being brought back into everyday community use.

🏟️ Ever wondered how you heat a sports hall with super-high ceilings?

At St Mary's Community and Leisure Centre in Southampton, we installed our iTwelve Industrial Radiant Panels across the sports hall

Six panel runs delivering silent, even warmth straight to the people and surfaces below, not the air! 🔥

The full project also included:
🔹Fan convectors keeping the squash courts and climbing area comfortable
🔹An air curtain protecting the entrance from draughts
🔹All part of a wider low-carbon heating upgrade for the centre!

🔹 Back to Cornwall for another CPD session!

Chris Ward was back with the team at Method Consulting last month, delivering our CIBSE-approved coil heat exchangers CPD. We first visited a few years ago for our radiant panels CPD session, so it's brilliant to see the relationship continue!

The team learnt about:
✅ How coils transfer heat to and from an airstream
✅ Heat transfer fluid options
✅ Key considerations for performance and efficiency

And a special mention for Method Consulting's office, where surf boards greet you in the entrance rather than bicycles. No surprise really, they're a five minute walk from the beach!
