⛳️ A day to remember!

We’re delighted to share a few highlights from the NHBC South West Charity Golf Day, held in association with Steve Hoskin Construction Ltd.

We brought along our signature ‘Chip In The Dumper’ challenge, which proved to be a fantastic addition to the day! It certainly brought out everyone’s competitive side and added a bit of SHC fun to the occasion.

It was a brilliant day filled with great company, plenty of friendly competition, and most importantly, an opportunity to raise money for an incredible cause.

We were proud to support as our chosen charity, and thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone involved, we’re thrilled to have raised over £12,000!

A huge thank you to everyone who played, sponsored a hole, donated prizes, contributed to the fundraising, or helped behind the scenes to make the day such a success. Your support will make a real difference.

Work Experience at Steve Hoskin Construction

It was great to have Jack and Jack join us for their work experience recently.

During their time with us, they got an insight into the different roles within the construction industry, spending time with our Quantity Surveyors, Estimators, Engineers, Technical Coordinator and Drone Surveyor, visiting our sites and seeing the work first-hand.

At Steve Hoskin Construction, we’re proud to support the next generation and offer Groundworks Apprenticeships for those looking to start a career in construction.

Our next cohort of apprentices starts in September. If you’re interested in gaining hands-on experience and building a career in groundworks, get in touch to find out more.

Today we said a heartfelt goodbye to Frank Bright.

A much loved member of the SHC team, it was a privilege to have Frank work for us for so many years, together with his son Adam who was always by his side.

Our thoughts and love are with his wife, June, and his children, Adam and Melissa, during this difficult time.

The overwhelming love and respect shown today by Frank’s family, friends and work colleagues was a true reflection of the wonderful man he was. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Rest in peace, Frank.

Royal Cornwall Show 2026

DAY 3 wasn’t to be!

A huge thank you to our fantastic team for all their hard work at the show and behind the scenes - from making the spinning wheel, painting, delivering kit, to putting together goodie bags and blowing up balloons. The list goes on, and we truly appreciate every one of you.

Thank you to for supplying and putting up the marquee. We can’t recommend this company enough.

Thanks also to for all our merch 🧢 they go above and beyond for us every time. 💙

And a big shout-out to for the livery on our brand new sweeper lorry and the wrap on our VW Buzz - they look incredible.

Although the show was cut short due to bad weather conditions, we still loved spending time with old friends, meeting new ones, and talking mental health, apprenticeships and job opportunities.

Apologies to the parents whose children didn’t want to leave our mini construction site, they were clearly having too much fun! 🚧😄
